For those who have a homework free carefree holidays, spare a thought for meeee. My dad is being full serious now days and hes made me write a schedule to follow every day. Which includes at LEAST 3hrs of work and a couple hours on computer T_T I mean i would probably do some revision normally but I don't want to be forced to especially since it's the holidays... oh well, at least i still get to go out a lot :S

Friends?
I just realised what i typed was pretty dog, and i didnt mean some of it...Here is a more realistic up to date true post XD
Maybe you can show some more emotion when your friends leave for a new school. SUrely you must have felt1 something inside you just maybe? :L Anyywayyss i was just getting a little overwhelmed, I'm just saying you should learn when not to be a stoner at times. And learn to smile lawl.

We had a film incursion that was pretty boring today, would be even worse without a charismatic talker though... She must get paid a lot 22X120= O.o and it's not like she had to spend much on anything... she just had a powerpoint and herself. But besides that we met a handful of new people to join us next year. I was hoping to make some guy friends but there really weren't that many =/ And to be honest the new students were kinda a dissapointment aswell (maybe too high expectations?) i was expecting them to be open talkative and normal-ish? :O Well i think 1 of them was pretty funny and i got along with her alright. But i think she was the only one, another oozed bitchiness, another really cold and another so shy or closed that even when I said HI to HER and introduced myself, she stared at me blankly sneering? Alriiighht just trying to welcome you, jeez. You can already tell who's going to be part of who's group...but you never know, these things change quickly. So first impressions? pretttty bad, my enthusiasm has diminished a little.
Good thing that was only around 10 of them, hopefully the other 20 are cooler.

hi, I was at an awesomly off the hook party/sleepover yesterday until today so i couldn't blog. I'm kinda out of it right now since i came home a few hours ago and I only managed to rack up at most 1hour of sleep last night. From 5am- 6am, but at least i got to see the sun rise! I also went to riverstone for the first time and found an uncanny ability for time prediction.
I'm all partied out so I think I'm going to go to sleep now. I could've gone to another party today but my mum didn't let me :/ and i'm really tired and my vision is kinda screwed.

Formal/other shizz
Yes i haven't blogged in a while and there has been an overload of events (formal and incursion) I was just mainly too tired and couldn't be bothered blogging these past few days.
Formal, didn't look all that great, but the party was rocking and so were the weeners (Y) awesome night. Partying with music on full blast, my ears were ringing well after the formal and everything sounded a tad muter. Even the people who i didn't expect to dance, danced (even if it did take a lot of convincing). Generally we acted all high for the whole night but it was kinda weird when you have the sterny gaze of the principals and deputy principals on you. You could tell they wanted to say something or have a go at us but they decided in letting us have our fun. And i think that night was the most pics i've taken in my life O.o Oh and i was surprised at certain peoples' shuffling, b boying, popping and cripping skills :) very impressive boys.
We spent 6hours at school learning some bullshit business skills, haha kinda funny though we spent like ages learning how to shake hands with an employer. Firm no wetfish no dominance, keep it neutral and 2 shakes is enough? O.o wow i actually got something out of that seminar.

harry potterr
Deathly hallows was an awesome movie. I only saw the first part today which was 2 and a half hours long so i thought it would drag on for agess because previous movies in total are only like 1 and a half hours. Not getting to see cho chang was a downer :( but overall the plot and acting and generally everything was great. But there was this chick behind me and zomg every 5 freaking minutes she would laugh hysterically at scenes that were no even remotely funny and sometimes even sad. So yea that pissed me off, it was sooo annoying. If you haven't seen it, get your ass at a cinema and watch it :D
PAY YOUR $40 TOMORROW I DO NOT WANT TO BE THE ONLY GRADE TO HAVE THEIR FORMAL CANCELED. ALONG WITH ALL THE MONEY LOST PURCHASING CLOTHING.

I've been wrapping a lot of presents lately (birthdays and christmas coming up) and i realise i really cannot wrap presents. I usually get 'help' from my sister (basically she does all of it) or i chip in for other presents and i still dont wrap. The front of my presents actually look alright but the back... is like a stickytape mess :( ahh well its the thought that counts right?
Back to school tomorrow, seems like ages but it's only been a week...

Day 4- the best day of the week!
Today is the second last day at holroyd and i had to say goodbye to some fellow council members (because they don't come in tomorrow) and it made me surprisingly kinda sad because they were really nice to me. I never thought i would feel this way about the council :O And i think I've talked to more old people these past 4 days than i have my whole life, like all the volunteers are retired old people. Okay so today i had Meals on Wheels service till 11am and after that i went to a council organised event to celebrate the services given by all their volunteers (I think the youngest one there was 3 times my age).
So let me ask you Girra attenders. Do you even know who our mayor is hmmmm? yea i didn't think so. Me neither, until today, I was able to not only see him i was able to meet him, shake his hand and speak with him :D So i asked him this in a joking but half serious way:
Me: soooo mr Perry, thinking of giving more funds to good old GIrraween high some time? *nudge nudge*
Mayor: hah hah hah
-continues chuckling-
Mayor: "maybe sometime son"
Me: =='
BUt wat seriously what made my day was the viva la samba performers who came :D. If you don't know what samba it's this Brazilian dance. And these yound 20 year old girls came in with frilly red headpieces and frilly bikinis :D and for 30? or so minutes (I lost track of time) they were 'shaking' everything ahahah including chest pumps LOL. SO yes it was very entertaining :D But when old people dance with hot young girls im kinda like =/
Oh and also I got a free christmas lunch, of turkey with baked vegetables gravy and cranberry sauce (: YUM! and i have concluded that I really don't like christmas pudding that much, first bite tastes alright but it's realllly reallly sweet annd filling.
Last day of work experience tomorrow guys!

Day 3
I got an all council floor tour today. And it's just strange seeing asians in a place full of white people. And i don't know why but whenever i see another asian in public and they see me it's like we have that special 'asian' connection. Also it's soo obvious what are stereotypically male and female jobs in the council. You find that whole departments are either male of female. Community services and child care- allll female. Engineering, technical, IT- like 100% male.
I put gum in paper and into my pocket because there were no bins around, unfortunately the paper did not cover the whole wad of gum. SO when i took my phone out it was like all sticky with gum pieces all over it :( it took me like 15minutes to wash and attempt to scrape it all off.
On the way home i had a lol moment on the train. A kid from rosebay was sleeping on the train (i don't know how people sleep on public transport) with his mouth wide open and his head lapping from side to side. Also there was constantly strands of drool running down the side of his mouth, and EVERy time he would wipe it off. :D:D
2 more days, finally

DAY 2
I'm out for so long and get up so early that i only really remember going to holroyd coming back eating dinner go on comp for a bit go back to sleep and its back to holroyd again. T_T I did everything i did yesterday, except a meal on wheels cook told me about all his veges and herbs and i got to try :D. But i went to a organisation inspection today with a holroyd member. The organisation wanted some money form the coucil for a project to run and we had to go over inspect their house and interview them. The lady was really trying to prove her cause to us. HAHA i felt kinda special :D

work experience day one
Okay i can safely say that work experience is definitely more tiring than school. I woke up at 6:30 =.=' i like NEVER wake up that early (only for like camp and other rare activities) and came back home at 5:30. So thats 11 WHOLE hours outside. Whereas archy got to finish at like 3pm wtf :/ It's the first time i went to merrylands and i didn't get lost (: Today I was an assistant, I: typed (with praise for fast typing speeds from the holroyd crew), read, printed, photocopied and got toured. Anddd i also can confidently say I know how the meals on wheels system works now (: i even helped cook, prepare, stack, get orders and transport cooked food. You'd be surprised at how many people rely on this service. The 'wheels' service is not by a young looking guy with an ordinary car you see in the television ads, but much rather by old retired men with rusty utes and shaky hands. It kinda feels good to 'give' to the community :D and I'm going to a community centre and a holroyd event to help outtt later in the week.
I also got a special "work experience student" and prox card, so I look kinda businessy. Without a prox card does that mean ms antony (my supervising teacher) won't be able to visit me :D There was also this dude who briefed me about the holroyd youth centre, and I couldn't keep myself from staring at his double chin because every time he spoke he looked like a frog XD.
I've never given/ received so many handshakes in my life :O
Everyone still seemed to have had a better day than me though :O

Work experience week.
It's work experience week for ussss. It sucks beacuse i have to buy a weekly train ticket costing $15 so not only do i not get paid i have to PAY to go to work. And the hours are longer than school 8:30- 4:30. And i have to wear 'business attire', so black pants and a formal shirt. And i dont know what bag to bring because i have no 'work' bag. I saw a mum at coles today 'stealing' lollies. She got lollies off the rack unwrapped them dropped the wrapping (WITH the barcode) and gave it to her sons. Also i realise it's so easy to steal fruit/nuts from fruits stalls in shopping areas i see quite a lot of people doing it, especially at blacktown. I also havent been to my work experience place, or even the suburb for that matter. But i should hopefully be fine..
Looking forwards to reading everyones' posts on their work experience experiences tomorrow :D

I don't know whats happening in blacktown but helicopters have been noisily hovering around my area for hours now. I wonder who/what they're looking for. At blacktown station there were theese two camouflaged armly type looking helicopters hovering dangerously close to the ground.

SCHOOL CERT IS (practically) OVER YAYYYY. 4 hours of head bent down eyes staring at words on paper can get quite tiring at times. I find it ironic that the board of studies made mistakes on the history/ geo papers, school certificate is such an "important" test so shouldn't it have been double, triple, quadruple checked?? APEC stands for uhmmm something but i know it definitely does not stand for Asia Pacific Economic Community!
The weather is deceivingly hot, it looks cold in the morning (cloudy etc) and even the day before it was pouring with rain and cracking with thunder. Which reminds me every time theres thunder my lights flicker and the electricity turns off for like a SECOND and then my computer completely turns of (which is annoying especially if you have unsaved assignments) and takes liike 1hr till it's able to be turned on again. DOing school cert in long grey pants in an unconditioned windowless hall can make one slightly uncomfortable. especially when your legs start sticking to your pants after a while in the same position.
Advantages of facebook: (for those anti-facebookers)
- keep in touch with friends
- know what others are wearing on days of tests so you don't look like an outsider.
- comment and view other peoples' pictures
- playing online facebook games when you're ultra bored
- not seem like an antisocial person
- and finally, stalking people from the comfort of your own home (:
I feel slightly bad when one is favoured over another, especially when the the bonds are longer and better.

7/11 day
School cert tomorrow, and i can probably say i don't think i've studied as much as i should. I also feel strangely calm and apparently we're the last year to do SC?
I didn't go out to celebrate 7/11 day because i couldn't be bothered going out. Slushies for $1 is pretty cool (ahahah) but i bet the stores are like packed and the machines are out (i don't think they refill)

A bludgy teacher is all well and good, but you realise how bad he is when you actually want to learn something and try asking him a geography based question. I don't think he actually knows the correct answer and mumbles some random geography sounding jargon. Then searched for the rest of the period for answers to past geo school cert papers after I've told him they aren't there, after much (whats left of) hair scratching and pressing page up and page down at least 10 times he comes to the conclusion there are in fact no answers. Then the bell rings and my question remains unanswered.
THanks mr sharma.

I have the smallest eyes in my family, which is saying something considering I'm asian.
The boy's toilets really should be maintained better. There is no soap so after one goes to the toilet they can't wash their hands properly (it went from liquid soap, to foam soap, to nothing), and the toilet often smells like shit (literally) and vomit. Also it's really annoying because the 7/8 toilet cubicles are too low so its kinda weird when you can see people's heads at the corner of your eyes (even me at average height), so people who are slightly taller could technically look over and INTO someone elses cubicles if they really wanted to. It's never really happened to me personally, but the possibility is quite unnerving.
Year 10 formals are held in rented venues, or at least the school hall riiight?, but our school has hit an all time low of undercover basketball courts =.=' costing $40 not a very formal venue if you ask me.
MY CLASS NEVER DOES ANYTHING INTERESTING IN SEX ED its all just theory theory testbook, no practical or video stuff :( hehehe its still me favourite subject though (:

Happy? halloween
How do you carve a pumpkin?
I think Halloween has kinda lost it's meaning, I mean who actually knows what religion it's tied to and what it's actually 'celebrating'? I think people of all religions just go around for lollies. Speaking of trick or treating, who IS actually going trick or treating this year XD, or even celebrating halloween (although I know many of my asian readers won't be doing anything). I actually went last year witha couple of friends and it was mad fun :D (refer to blogger dp) and you would be surprised at the amount of lollies we actually managed to reap from a couple of streets (even in Australia). Except some households are kinda scary and what happened to "never accept candy from a stranger?" hahaha. I've seen a couple of bogan people just walking around with bags and normal-ish clothes who I think use halloween as an excuse to get freebies. Wait, isn't that what halloween is for? :P
P.S. I don't even think my family know what halloween is and will probably shut the door on anyone who knocks looking like a witch/zombie/goul or what not.
On another note, I spent a good few hours trying to tell my grandad how to extract files from a rar file. Also I notice my grandad always comes out of the toilet with suspicious wet patches on his pants, which i HOPE is evidence of him washing his hands and wiping it on his pants.

Classroom games
I played heads down thumbs up for the first time in about 4-5 years. It was in english and we'd finished all our work, and I just can't believe such a boring game entertained and got my heart racing (to get thumb pinched?..) for years in primary school. Perhaps these games were just designed by school teachers to make young kids be quiet (and what happened to the lolly rewards? XD). Some games I remember are redlight green light, stuck in the mud, shoosh ball and buzz off (can you think of anymore?). Buzz off was played more in the older years iguess because it was more 'educational' and what 'big' kids play. Yet i always failed because I couldn't keep track of where each letter we were up to in a word. OH BTW i was ALMOST on tv because our primary school went to 'it's academic' (anyone else go there) and we had to do like a test thingo to decide who was smart enough to go on the show, i just missed out :( but at least i made audience! (Y)

A good proportion of my day was spent calling 3 and trying to unlock my old sony ericsson phone so that my dad can use a vodafone sim that he bought. He's asian choosing the cheaper vodafone sim instead of a 3 sim. Also it's really really hard following instructions from all the 3 operators who were indians and had heavy accents. Then the worst feeling every is after 4hrs of sweaty hands, head scratching and phone setting fondling you're unsuccessful. Apparently the phone is actually unlocked but phone calls still can't be made =/
Tomorrow is a good day to start studying school cert. I think nature is confused weather it's spring, summer or winter :O

I have nothing to write about :(
My finger is still sore :(
It's funny how my maths teacher actually lets the 'bad' kids in my maths class play games... she just tells them to not disturb the rest of the class. Even the teacher has lost hope in them :S And i really should start doing some practice papers for school cert. I honestly don't know where the day goes these days.
Msn is being mean and not sending my messages =(

My finger hurts because a basketball bent it back really hard in pe today.I feel it's getting hotter which brings back good and bad memories:
Good:
- Swimming pool (even though i don't have one anymore)
- Eating ice cream (Y)
- Ice cold showers after a long day at school
Bad:
- Long pants + sweaty legs = uber annoying and uncomfortable
- Allergies
- 'loose' bits sticks to places which is very uncomfortable
- Pants have to get rearranged quite often in a subtle way
- Attempting to concentrate in class with insufficient cooling measures, such as ancient fans that make clicking noises when they turn.
- Difficulty sleeping at night (even WITH the aircon on)
- Refusal to do anything except lie on my couch with the aircon turned on
Allergies in summer sucks, your body is so freaking hot but you get these uncomfortable cold chills >.<

TOday was a war veteran's incursion. Which was in fact quite interesting, I;m actually looking forward to modern history next year. Apparently $5 was made as a "donation" i wonder why it was compulsory and never listed on the note hmmm, on the note it said $5 fee. And does that mean if you don't donate you can't attend?
I just spent the last couple of hours attempting to retrieve lost mobile phone numbers when i put my old sim into my new phone. The numbers on the sim got wiped out =.='
Welcome back shirley LIUSTER I'm loving those snsd posters!
I'm losing willpower to blog now.

I have mutant leg hair. Most come out normally but a fair few aren't able to get through the skin and ends up instead pushing the skin upwards creating ugly bumps =( and some come out but not very well they form loops on the top of my leg skin. QUIZ TIME
I have nothing to blog about (once again i had something interesting to say but forgot) so I'll do a quiz! (: quizzes (is that the plural) are a good way to find things about someone!

A plane (like 4 years ago), I'm not the bus/train sleeping type of person. The bus and train is like constantly moving and shaking and it takes me at least 1hr to get to sleep at home normally, and I'm hardly ever on a bus longer than 1hr. Also even if im REALLLY tired sleeping on a train/bus makes me feel really insecure because there are dodgy members of the public and stations could be missed.

Do you open up to a lot of people?
DEFINITELY
What are you listening to right now?
When I fall- After school

Have you ever thought about getting your tongue pierced?

MANY things seeing as we have a laptop and all ;)
How would your parents react if you got a tattoo?
*backhand*
You can only drink one liquid for the rest of your life, what is it?
Assuming there are no health implications, probably sunkist X) sunkist is a very underrated drink, not many people like it, it it because it isnt very manly? :/
What time do you go to bed?
School days: 11:30- 12:30, usually around 12

It's poorness. GHS is well known in the selective school circle for being povo. Which it is, we only have aircon in our library, I think we have 3 or 4 smart boards and our school no longer provides soap for guys to use in the toilets (idk about girls toilets). I also envy primary schools because they have newer and better quality infrastructure. Also every room has a smartboard and they also have aircon =/
Have you ever made a girl cry?

Hopefully that won't happen, but yea.
Do you believe your friends would do anything for you?
Nope

Who has the power to break you?
No one yet, just some really annoying bastards get on my nerves sometimes.
Who did you last ride in a car with besides family?

Given the right circumstances, yea i guess so.
Are any of your friends so close that you consider them family?
Nope
Are you good at giving directions?
I'd like to think so
Are you afraid of roller coasters?
Yes, but what fun would a roller coaster be if it wasn't scary?!
Where do people find these things? I can't seem to find them by myself I copy them from others :S

I went to an all you can eat buffet today, and I saw a blind prawn. It just had a hard shell with the saw like horn thingy at the top of its head, no eyes. What a tough life, shame it ended on my dinner plate.
(asian) rules to buffets: (as quoted by my parents)
- Eat meat and seafood
- Don't eat doughy food such as pizza because it's cheap to buy outside
- Eat as much as you can
- Starve before a buffet
- Wear loose pants
P.S. some of these may be slightly exaggerated.
The results? straining pants, 7 plates of food eaten, bulging belly, slightly sick >=D

I was about to comment on how spring was actually beginning to feel like spring yesterday because it was actually pretty warm and didn't rain for the first time in like a week. But today it was like 10 degrees colder than yesterday and I think the howling animal sounding wind outside has blown pollen into my room because my nose is running like a hose and i have the oh too familiar setting of scrunched up dried tissue balls on my table.
Youtube is a good source for missed/ catchup episodes of the amazing race >=D
I get patches of really sensative sore skin sometimes, and it hurts to touch=/

Was hardcore english essaying yesterday so I didn't get a chance to blog. I actually wrote up a 1000 word essay but kinda forgot/didn't have enough time during the actual essay writing and had to cut/miss out stuff and ended up writing about 700 words. Now i'm basically free until school cert, and i spent the day playing a lame popcap game, plants vs zombies = ='
I hate my shower nozzle, a little turn of the handles in my shower makes the water either extremely cold or ice cold, it's so annoying. I notice like half my underwear is red, but you just had to know that.
It seems with age he height of the pants line also increases. Below age 50 the pants line is below the belly button, by 50 it's on the belly button greater than 50 is above and age 85+ is somewhere between the bellybutton and nipple.

Group work can have it's ups and downs, UP ---> good group member, DOWN --->bad group member. Sometimes group work does not depend soley on one member...Today IST was due and apparently my partner "didn't know when the project was due", so he did it in ONE day in periods and ended up with quite a shit job, but i guess better than nothing? I guess it's not really his fault, but it's kind of irritating when no means of communication is available in the holidays and my part has been well and truly completed. Meaning that I'll get a lower mark for ist. I don't really care about IST but still...
That's all I want to rant about today, english essay time!

Back to school
I'll blog now since I'm about to go to a wedding ceremony/dinner.
These holidays have as usual, been unproductive. I have yet to start my english essay, but I've fully had to last minute complete IST so I'm free today.
In terms of awesomeness this holidays have been totally the best. I've had it all, a party, bowling, tennis, DESPICABLE ME, hanging out with awesome friends, that I wouldn't normally and buying many many many spring clothes. Surely this must come at a price, well yes my wallet (if i had one) is sorely deflated and my financial status is rock bottom, but at least I'm happy and satisfied.
I have mixed feelings about the term ahead, I guess it's good to see friends, but the transition from holiday mode to work/study/school mode is quite a hard one... We have school cert this term but hopefully after that it'll be fun fun fun, with our formal, work experience and a HUGGGEEE number of parties that I'll (hopefully) attend. I'm not usually allowed out during the school period, but hopefully my parents will be more lenient after school cert's over. Speaking of that, what exactly will we be doing for another 5weeks after school cert?...
Parties can be summed up in this equation.
Party=fun=presents=money
I might even have to miss a couple of parties because I won't be able to afford it =/ but I WILL NOT miss my good friend's party, I'll go whatever the cost. We were really tight back in primary (I hope we still are =/) but now I hardly get to see you, so I'll never miss this opportunity to catchup and celebrate your sweet 16th (:
Hope you had a nice holiday everyone, but now it's back to school time! >=D.....=/

I was going to talk about something, but I forgot what it was.
I watched despicable me in 3d today, and i finally know where people get those "real 3d" lens less glasses from. I think I've become an impulse buyer, while oftern just 'browsing' a stall. Buying hats are hard for me =/ my head is too big for child hats yet too small for adult hats :(
So my grandad acted really freakily today. i came down for dinner and i saw him staring at the dvd player thing above our tv, just looking at it. I think he was still kinda conscious because he called my name and said hi and stuff. But then he refused to come to dinner instead he just stared black eyed at the tv for hours whilst we were having dinner, he seemed really really out of it. When we tried calling him he just ignored us. After my dad came back home, he finally made grandad come to dinner but he even kind of forgot how to walk, he shuffled along and walked slanted. When he started eating he just kept saying the same thing over and over and overagain. Telling my grandmum to come sit down and eat (when grandma had already finished dinner) when dad asked him what was the problem he kept saying that. Originally he kept saying he didn't know how to turn the tv off and to not worry about him (obviously in shange) over and over again, the tv had already been turned off by my mum... now he's downstairs resting on the sofa i think.
I think this runs in the family, it's kindof unnerving =/
Okay now i know that I'm definitely not going crazy, because i keep wondering how my pens keep disappearing, turns out my dad comes into my room when he's upstairs and needs a pen and 'borrows' one of my pens. Problem is, they never get replaced, how do i know this? I saw my dad use one of my pens today. And he always denies taking them, my parents never like to admit something that makes them wrong and me right. It's an asian dominance thing.

Today i had a nice relaxing day at the city shopping, browsing, eating and hanging out. With some very cool people X) I bought a cardigan and shoes. I actually have already bought all of my spring/summer clothes. Shoes are too big, what a bother, I'll have to return it, and it's all the way in the city. I haven't done any work and I still have an outing and a wedding to attend, so i am also screwed. I've become very lazy indeed.
Oh and we also saw a grand piano costing $104000
P.S. You play piano uber ultra very very well! (:

A bleak future?
So today I found out that my parents/relative have a number of hereditary diseases. This is slightly alarming.
- High cholesterol (mum)
- High blood pressure (mum)
- Dodgy throat- bad airways, gets blocked and easily infected (dad)
- Gum disease (dad)
- Diabetes (grandparents)
- Migraines (mum)
- Very BAD teeth- my mum started losing teeth in her late twenties =O not ONE tooth made it to age 50 in either of my parents D:
I am BOUND to get at LEAST ONE of these =/, but hey, at least balding isn't an issue =D

Today I went to a party, and i was one of the few asians there. I feel strange because I totally could not imagine my normal friends at that scene. It's strange how i fit in with both types of people even though those people have totally different personalities. Parties are cool because everyone lets loose and goes crazy and you get to see their wild side :D
If you could see my table right now you would see a pile of miscellaneous (pronounced miscellAneous not miscellEneous XD) items. A packet of ashun preserved orange peels, zappo lollies, scrunched up dried tissues, a newspaper, shapes (the biscuit) and a mandarin. I've been doing a lot of late night movie watching and pigging out. Yup holidays are good alright. Although I really should start doing work to get into the school life swing of things again, but i am so no motivated.

Shanghainese FOOD!
|
It's a human hollow! This is soo awesome (: especially if you watch bleach.
Now to the main topic of the day. Shanghainese food!! (:
Now I will go through a unique list of asiany/shanghainesey food that I eat. This will be fun, if you're asian you can do a mental check off of the food I talk about, if you have ever eaten it.
Note: the foods translated into english just does not sound as appealing.
- Preserved tofu:
This looks like tofu is made out of soy beans, but it's been preserved in a salty brine. Usually it's topped off with chilli paste. The texture is kindof creamy and harder than normal tofu. Basically it's off tofu (but hey, yoghurt is essentially just off milk isn't it?) I eat this weekly with rice porridge. Tastes pretty good if i say so myself. (first image)
- Sichuan preserved vegetables:
Basically some sort of root vegetable preserved in a pepper and salt brine. It has a brownish- green tinge to it and looks like some kind of rotten vegetable to the untrained eye. It's very salty and tastes a bit bitter. (second image)
- Bamboo shoots:
I think almost every asian would have eaten bamboo shoots. Yes I know BAMBOO is a type of wood and can be used to make furniture, but the Shoots are really soft crunchy and nice :) they can practically be sweet, salty or bitter. (third image)
- Preserved citrus peels:
Dried mandarin/ orange skins with salt and sugar. Tastes pretty good (and cheap ^^) The citrus-y zest gives it a nice twang to it. YOu truly have to be ashun to eat this. (last image)
P.S. I can say all these in shanghainese, but i can't really say it on a blog now can I? ehehe.

KFC
Today i went furniture shopping at bunnings warehouse (what an exciting holidays I'm having) and my sis bought a balcony lounge/sofa thing. Bunnings warehouse is so damn big it's like 3 levels big with it's own carpark. Bunnings is so big it's like a mini shopping centre. I have never seen so many utes and middle ages men in one place at one time.
I had the worst fast food I've ever eaten today. At kfc the chips were cold, the potato and gravy lumpy and weird looking. And the chicken...The chicken was warm smelt off and tasted rotten. =/ NEVER going there again. SO if i wake up with a mysterious illness tomorrow, i will know why.

Today I went out with a couple of friends to bowling and general bumming around at keely's house. I won't full describe the day from start to finish or what happened over the course, as I think that is quite boring to read. I shall do a summary (: At bowling me and my friends saved $7 ea from a coupon we found online XD (asian ftw) kudos to yen wei. I had 3 strikes >=D -proud- it just took me three bowls to warm up. I've always wondered, are the numbers on the size of the ball in kilograms? or are they just random number sizes... It's funny how 3 people were making fun of me at how crap I was at bowling but then in the end i believe they got POWNED.
I remained undefeated for table tennis, keely i LET you win that time, doesn't count -nods- I will only admit defeat from your mum... I swear every asian family has at least ONE relative that is wellknown and uber good at table tennis, often winning prizes/trophies/medals/money in the past.
P.S. I have a friend who caught his first bus in Australia (without parents). Has he been living under a rock for 16 years? :O
Yes this is a very bland expression for the day.

Today, well yesterday I went formal shopping. And I've go everything picked out now :) You would not believe how much formal pants cost =.='. I kind of envy girls and the accepted dress code. For guys its either vest or suit with formal pants. The only thing that changes is the colour of the shirt, suit/ vest and pants (practically either black or white). For girls there are SOOO many choices.
Looking at the place for a party on google maps. I realise just how rich the castle hill area is. The houses are big and you wouldn't believe how high the pool - no pool ratio are. Almost all houses in that area have pools and some even have tennis courts...
Isn't it strange how I have nothing to do but i can't even find the time to blog? ...

Straight males may find the following content disturbing or distressing
This post will be about a number of disturbing topics. I talk about a lot of personal issues on my blog so if you're uncomfortable i suggest you close this tab. (not that any of you will, you're all curious as to what I'm about to say I'm sure, but oh well i warned you).
I was bored and sifting through my movies today. And i came across one called 'Bruno', i heard it mentioned a couple of times on the schoolyard (little did I know it was for all the wrong reasons) so I decided hmm why not? BIIIIIIIG MISTAKE. BRUNO has got to be the GAYEST (literally and metaphorically speaking) movie I had EVER seen. I have a horrible habit of having to finish movies that I start. The image above is the official cover of the movie and is NOTHING compared to the actual video. The video is about a gay austrian fashion designer who became broke, the story follows his road to stardom, now this may sound all well and good however Bruno's road to celebrity status is very strange indeed. The movie contains uber gay dancing, stripping, very revealing clothing (and not on women), VERY gay fetishes which at least are censored, dry humping and same sex kissing. Actually calling this movie gay is an understatement. To actually find this movie funny one must be well aware of all the sexual jargon, and then have one warped sense of humour. DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE!
Now my grandparents are old fashioned, they're in their early 80's. In shanghai, there are many old fashioned families with chinaware deep cauldrons they keep below their beds. Now I didn't know what it was for, until I found out they were used for pissing into at night when it's either too cold or they can't be bothered going downstairs to the toilet. I cannot fathom how people can live with a bowl of freaking piss underneath their beds. Just thinking about it gives me chills. Now I can kindof understand why it's needed in china, but at my house the toilet is a few metres away from our bedrooms, and unfortunately old habits die hard. I come into their bedroom one day to help my grandad with his computer (he doesn't know how to change the font in ms picture manager) and I almost trip over a clear bucket of yellow liquid, I almost puked when it finally dawned on me. I mean it takes a couple minutes to go toilet and back, peeing in a bucket will save you what 1 minute? there have got to be hygiene issues there.
On a slightly happier note I found out my grandad actually physically deletes pictures ONE by ONE on his camera. He's had to delete hundreds of pictures from his camera taking him like 3hours! when I heard this I just laughed. So i taught him how to delete all of them at once on the computer. He was so happy! rofl....
I'm going to parra tomorrow. Oh and congrats if you made it this far :D

HOLIDAYS
You know we had a whole semester worth of assignments and tests to do in ONE term (term 3). One week ago I was fully hardcore study boying, and envying baulko who got to do their tests after the holidays. BUt now I'm actually grateful that our tests are done, because now I can actually enjoy my holidays for once and school cert is in week 5 so I've got PLENTY of time to study during school. Whereas baulko heheh have to study all of these holidays BAHAHAHHA.
Daniel's holiday plans:
- O.C. outing =D
- Girra outing :D
- Birthday Party :D
- Tennis =)
- Shopping :)
- IST =/
- English practice essay :(
- and whatever else comes up
P.S. I may not post daily during the holidays, due to the lack of things to talk about.

Grandparenting adventures (:
So at dinner today, something else (along with the daily spittle/food specks/ yelling) quite disturbing was observed. After dinner my grandma actually took out her dentures, I'll have you know I was still eating dinner at the time, at the dinner table and observed them (I'm guessing for food remnants)? And it's kinda disgusting seeing her toothless and with a set of wired gum coloured dentures in her hands. Then upon sight she takes her dentures and sucks on them while her tongue licks the outside of it... =/
Old age sure is a harrowing prospect.

Moon Festival! :) and asian dinners.
Happy Moon Festival. For those who don't know what it is, it's an asian festival that celebrates the moon. Supposedly the moon at this time is at it's brighest and fullest (check it out for yourself). It is celebrated by eating moon cakes (the thing above), made from lotus seed paste with a yolk in the middle. I just had a bit after
dinner....
I think our grade is the most unenthusiastic of all grades in the school (whether we do it on purpose or not). We could never match up with the present day craziness and enthusiasm of the present yr 12. Maybe because they have a lot of whites in their grade =P Today's talent quest was basically fueled on year 12 performances. I'm thinking that when we get into year 12, will there be any performances at all? :O A certain parody of 'tik tok' was. quite. um. interesting...and I can assure you one of the best Indian dancers will be at Girraween High, lets just say we have a lot of Indian talent to choose from. Meanwhile the rest of today was also a total bludge, we had no supervision at all for english, watched a movie in geography and history elective. This week is so different in contrast to this exact time a week or two ago.
Is it just shang families that talk uber uber loud? At dinner my dad and grandpa are literally shouting at the dinnertable to talk to each other. Having an 80 year old and a 50 year old man next to you shouting in your ear is just a tad bit annoying when you're trying to enjoy a nice family dinner. Naturally with shouting and food there is bound to be specks of food residue and spittle that land on my arm, face and in my rice bowl, that is also a bit unpleasant. Also eating is like warfare, my dad practically forces a piece of food onto my grandparents' plate, responded with refusion and eventual acceptance. This happens all the time, I think it's become the role of the host to do it and before the guest can eat it he/she has to try and deny it. I think it is almost impolite NOT to go through this routine. But I think my grandparents HAVE to do it to convince my dad that they're actually full, or he just keeps piling stuff onto their plates. A certain level of refusal has to be reached before my dad is satisfied that they genuinely ARE full.
My allergies are playing up again, I used up all my tissues and the inside of my nose feels constantly itchy. I'm also sneezing on average every five minutes and my nose is running like a hose. Also that red patch below my nose is starting to form due to excessive nose blowing. Oh and also you should save those woolies dockets sometimes, (yes I know it's asian) but my friend actually got an $18 meal for FREE on one of his woolworths receipt.
I just spent 30minutes typing this, first time my web browser closed and blogger didn't auto save, so i had to type up again.

Oldies
Old people are quite forgetful actually. Yesterday I went into my bathroom and saw a clear bowl full of old people's dentures and had a :/ moment. You get used to these things hopefully.... Why do my grandparents talk so loud? (maybe because of their failing hearing) at 5am yesterday (considered to be late) when they got up they were talking soo loud that i could hear next door. So I layed on my bed wide open with (what would have been) bloodshot eyes, at 7am they finally left so i could get some shut eye... tonight- EAR PLUGS!

My grandparents slept at 7. I saw a pigeon that was just lying on the ground staring at me as I approached. I deduce that it was nearing old age and soon to die. I have a boring life. Gosh I miss my 4U english expert veteran sister to help me through Macbeth and other Shakespeare texts. JUst because we don't have anything to do with it, doesn't mean you shouldn't inform us of your whereabouts, because naturally friends tend to wonder and seek you out if we don't know where you are. It's just common knowledge.
Reasons why I am not a typical asian:
- I am better at english than maths and science
- I cannot play the piano
- I don't go to tutoring
- I can't speak mando or canto

School tomorrow, seems like a short yet long time we had yearlies. I forgot my dentist appointment in the heat of the night before maths test and ultra studying D: My grandparents are coming over tomorrow from China, it'll be awkward because I haven't seen them in 3 years. And my quite unsatisfactory dodgy shang doesn't help either. Unfortunately shanglish doesn't work on them either.

It feels like I have school tomorrow. Today has been quite busy I spent the day out at ashfield/flemington with my parents. Flemington markets, if you havent been, is this huge shelter with many many stalls. You have asian people yelling dolla dolla dollaa in that asian accent and shop owners all around you screaming at you to buy a watermelon/cauliflower/oranges etc. It's crowded with like so many people banging on all sides of you (O.o) and the floors are an icky black colour with squashed melons, various seeds, leaves and an assortment of squished fruit and veg. I got rammed into a trolley when an asian man (jeez asians these days, can't see) with a trolley full of bananas runs into me. I also saw quite an interesting/ disturbing sight. There was an old western man with John Howard hair wearing a colorful pink/ green poka dot dress with heels, handbag and rosey cheeks (what I assume to be makeup) and I think he was wearing mascara, but I didn't want to look too much at him, because I'm sure he would've seen me with a face like :OOOOO.

Today I've been lazing at home, I slept till 12pm. I found something quite interesting when you're bored. I fished out my old primary school photos (kindergarden- yr3) and decided to find each and everyone of those people on facebook. It is quite interesting to see how people turn out 10 years later. Oh and I also downloaded and watched bolt. Life's gooood

freedom
YEARLIES ARE OVER!!! Today I had my last test, maths now I'm freeee. Isn't it strange how when you have things to do, there never seems to be enough time for anything, but when you have free time, theres nothing to do =.=' maybe its just me. Seriously when I actually have things to do, I'm able to procrastinate on the comp for hours, but when I actually have no tests or assignments I don;t know what to do. Maybe I should go out and go for a run, get some exercise refresh my mind a bit. Pshhhh what am i saying im too fat for that (: This week seemed long, and short at the same time...I wish i'm one of those people who can confidently say they're going to get 95%+ after a test...But oh well whats done is done, no use moping over it if nothing can be changed. It's what I keep telling myself when I'm sad.
I'm looking forward to the holidays, I've got no work, so it'll be play play play. My grandparents are going to be coming over so I'll be going out twice as much.
Age 16 is a cool, big boy, older number. way cooler than 15.

I just realised I've already done 6 exams, thats already EIGHT HOURS of examination time in total. I've got 1 test left, mathematics tomorrow then It's time to chillax. Speaking of exams, my neck has been hurting these past couple of days, due to the intense craning and bending of my neck to stare/ write on my paper. Maths is my most dreaded subject, I'm fine with everything else, but with maths you have to learn/ study so much and when it comes to the test you either know it or you don't. If you don't then thats a definite -3 marks. Daniel, please please please do well in maths tomorrow. 2hrs left to study before bed.
Gl everyone.
Gl everyone.

Ever felt like joining a different group of people to play or talk to, butt feel bad about 'ditching' your own group? History was okay, because I studied but geography was meh because I didn't study enough, I finished history in like 30minutes but Geography took me almost to full time. For the geography essay, I just bullshitted more than 2 pages of coastal management. Chucking a few geography sounding terms here and there "bilateral aid" "multilateral aid" "NGOs", random things I remember from the year that kindof relate to the topic, (groynes, sand dunes, coastal teatree?)
Do you have a friend that can be really mean for a period of time but then nice? I DO
I debuted on my first tackle footy game today (:
happy birthday to Anubhav
And an official congratulations to the second couple in our grade!! (halves don't count).

Stressful situations.
Luckily science didn't have too much chemistry, I wrote sulfuric acid as SO4 because I'm noob and it sounded familiar and chemistry-y. This is going to be a loooong week, day 1 and I'm already tired from over testing, mentally and physically. Usually 6 hours of class is fine, only about 30% brain force exertion is used, but for my 3hrs of tests today, extreme concentration, black and white paper staring and head scratching has mentally drained me. I've still got so much geography to study, I don't know if i'll be able to do it, usually in this situation I would come home laze on the bed and watch tv, but I can't.... Constant nose sniffling and pen clicking is really annoying especially when you're running out of time or you realise you don't know how to do a question. When I realise that a test is really hard, or when I'm running out of time, or when I know I'm going to to bad during a test, waves of heat rise up in my body and I get sudden head discomfort (no I don't cry, I don't think I've ever cried since year 6). I mostly just count to ten close my eyes and resume the test.
During the science test today, there was this girl at around the 1hr mark next to me (alphabetical order) she started shaking, getting fidgety and moving her knees up and down, which was quite distracting at the corner of my eyes. After about 30 minutes she like yells to the teacher (if you put your hand up it takes quite a long time for teachers to look up and realise you have your hand up) if she can go to the toilet and I was thinking "ohhh so tha'ts why". She like almost sprints out. Pee before a test, it's good for you. Did you end up studying for 12 hours?
MY brain feels owie.

does stress make pimples grow? Today I have had a good amount of hours science studying (I'm so unasian for not doing any sciences next year). But right now I am in panic mode because I forgot yr 9 things were being tested aswell so now I haev a whole year worth of things to learn and it's only 11pm. I have developed an awful habit of "hey I've got all of saturday lets go watch some tv for a bit", then I procrastinate and cram in the last minute. I finished one of my assignments at 12am :OOOO before. Chemistry and genetics are going to be the death of me tomorrow.
I wash my hair everyday, I think it's normal for guys but then i found out that some guys wash it once a WEEK. So i decided to try it aswell, so i miss washing my hair for ONE day and the next day my hair is uberly greasy, with clumped shiny hair bits and scalp that is so itchy it's hard not to scratch for a minute.

tests, bunsen burners and fingernails.
I'm quite proud of myself, I've managed to put in a good 2hours of history study. I just realised that I have a grand total of 10hrs of examination/test time next week.
Fingernails are cool they come in many shapes and sizes, and some experience much ridicule because of a particular shape ;). Have you seen a thumbnail that is wider than it is wide, I have! I find guys who don't get their nails to be disturbing and gross looking in a way. It's just something about guys and long nails that's just wrong. Especially on some asians, in china SO many of the people there leave their pinky nail uber long, is it a fad or something? it looks really freaky to me...fair enough if it's on a girl, but most of the time it's on a male. I would have drawn a diagram, but it's too late now... SO basically there are those really long thin thumbs, there are squarish ones, then there are ovalish ones (like mine, they're a bit longer than they are wide), there are fat thumbs where it is uber wide (yupyupyup its just the bone chris), then there are the thumbs that are realllllyyy wide, the fingernail on it is 3X wider than it is high, this is probably very rare and occurs in very few people. They kindof resemble frog fingers with the suction cap at the end (are they called fingers), I think they're called clubbed thumbs, Megan Fox has them!. Some people have no Lunula (the white crescent shaped bit at the base of your fingernails) For me my thumbs have the biggest Lunula then as i go from thumb to pinky the Lunula decreases in size until my pinky which basically have no white area. I wonder what the purpose of that colouring is?
The best thing about science, are the pracs, and the best pracs are the ones that involve FIRE, and those pracs involve a bunsen burner. Why is it so cool? because you can play with fire, my friends always fight over who gets to light the match first and light the bunsen burner. Did I mention that I LOVE the smell of petrol and natural gas? (yesyes it's bad for you, but it smells soooo nice for some reason). Now we get so absorbed in playing with fire (what bad kids) that we forge about the actual experiment. Instead we experiment with burning things in the bunsen burner, this could include sticking 3 matches into the bunsen burner flame and watching the minifireworks that occur, or burning paper, or hair, or even plastic *cough yen wei cough*. Oh and I myself tested the handwaving theory over a orange flame when I was bored. And to answer your question NO it doesn't hurt at all, if you wave your hand over the top of the flame really fast you feel nothing but a bit of heat. But once i kept it there for a few seconds longer, and after about 2 seconds you could feel a sudden pain. Sorry I'm not brave enough to get close enough to the blue flame.
WOWOWOOW in the last 3 hours have been a blur of shock/ information/ facebook/ MSN overload about others. Only now have I calmed down, I've had a many mix of emotions mainly for friends that will leave D': so I've got ABSOLUTELY NO work done. For my friends I feel happy for them personally, but sad that they're leaving. One of them was probably the only friend I could trust with my inner thoughts and feelings, GL for the future man. Another 2 I really only got to know them this year, but i sucks how now I can't get to know you any better. EHEH at least you will be with your fellow asians :D
Just because you didn't get into B doesn't mean you're crap, don't worry you're smart. Don't cry it won't get you anywhere, try looking happier :) believeee in yourselllffff (even though I don't myself).
Why were you so sad today? do you want to leave us that badly? D'=

Today I got shouted food -yaaay-, it always seemed like I was the person shouting and never getting shouted. Oh well that changed today =D I found out that my dad tried marijuana in his younger years, what a BEAST, I have new found respect for him LOL, I never knew he was so rebelious. He describes it as an extremely good/high euphoria feeling. Hmmm i wonder.
I hate maths study.

I'm suffering from an outbreak of small red pimples all over my face. So yearlies soon and i should be studying hardcore, but everday its the same -i'll start tomorrow- and whenever I get ready to study, there comes facebook and msn taunting me with those notifications. Then when i go on youtube to watch one video, i get addicted and click all the other videos on the side, thus wasting 1hr+ on youtueb alone. But it hurts to not log onto msn entirely, i envy those people who can multitask, be on the computer while doing his/her studying. Today I had a prac test, and I got 3 different answers for the same experiment, yup sure is reassuring. I dunno how to assess the accuracy or make a judgement on the validity of the experiment, thus I have to rely on my natural bullshitting skills. Seriously tomorrow HARDCORE STUDY.

Repaired computer
SO it's been a week since I last used my computer, now it's all repaired costing $170 :O but I got an entirely new motherboard. What have I been doing? watching football... never thought I would watch such a thing... Looks like studying will have to wait, I've got to make up for lost time :D
It's kindof unnerving the thought that some random wallet-stealing noob can look at my 1year collection of stickerphotos in my long lost wallet. Today i got a floorboard coloured plastic mat on my floor, because my parents say that my chair's ruining my floorboards.

my weekend study journey remains unstarted. I feel like I've left studying too late but I just can't help procrastinating, however I do feel reassured since the people that I would expected to have started studying also haven’t. I had a tiramisu cake, my parents always question the little chocolate structures that are erected on top, I always wonder how they make them have that metallic tinge. Dark, white or milk chocolate? Dark is better, unless it’s to the point where all you can taste is bitterness.

Happy birthday to my sister! I’m suffering msn and facebook withdraws. Don’t you just love the awkwardness between someone who you used to know (but not well) and the attempt to not maintain eye contact. FFS I want to check my facebook notifications!!! I dreamt of going on my computer going on facebook and looking at all those notifications, I’m so cool like that. It’s so unnatural for me to be at home and NOT on msn, and I bet it’s kindof strange not seeing me online. Without those social websites and msn I feel so cutoff from the world D: This is one boring post...

I just got home and I watched 5minutes of playschool and sesame street on abc kids T__T. Hey! it’s the only thing on tv atm. Yes this is what a lack of computer does to a normal person. It’s springtime! Probably my most disliked season along with winter, because for me spring = allergies which is worse than having a cold. I still haven’t gotten my wallet back so I’ve basically given up on it, I’m not going to tell my parents, I’ll just wait until next year until I get a new train/bus pass. So our school has some yr 11 Japanese exchange students that are REALLY, and I mean REALLY, as in 140cm short. And i had pe today, we were playing netball I was Goal defence, one of the RRREEAALLLYYY short Japanese student was goal attack and I was marking her. What happened was, J who was on the other team, passed it to what I thought was an open space, so naturally i go charging at the ball, but the jap student who I was marking, was originally behind me and I didn’t see her charge up (she was surprisingly fast) as I’m about to get the ball I feel a tiny tiny impact on my left shoulder and the next second i see her sprawled on the floor followed by the almost compulsory “oooooh” from bystanders. I hope she understands what sorry means... goshhhh i feel SOOO bad. D’= See this is why I don’t like playing co-ed sports, because I have to tone down my effort in the case of accidently hurting one of the girls, like i did today :(((( I mean ANY guy (even dayanan) would barely have felt anything let alone stack it like she did. Normally, even if it was a guy who stacked it or fell, it would have to be a really large impact and it’s really no big deal, since it happens a lot and guys are really competitive when it comes to sports. How do you say sorry in Japanese?

Hi, it took me ages to find a way to bypass the blocked internet to get onto blogger, but here I am. I can only post up here due to the limitations. So I did my English play, and I think my group and I had a 1% effort. We never even rehearsed as a group more than once and I think I read my lines a couple of times let alone memorise them -shakes head- I’m being one of those badkids of the class who don’t memorise their lines and read directly from the book. Oh well. Without my computer I basically have nothing to do, I have to watch lame (yet strangely addictive) shows on tv, such as farmer wants a wife , undercover boss and x factor >.> I hear you say “but Daniel you should study”, Yes i really SHOULD study but I really can’t be bothered nor am I motivated. I should REALLY be in –uber preparation for tests- mode seeing as I have tests in less than 2 weeks. I don’t get how Julian can be so motivated as to writing TWO HUNDRED notes of chemistry, I mean do you even learn that much? I still can’t get over it... Surely that CAN’T be normal, even for Girraween High school.

I just rediscovered television, I probably haven't watched it in half a year. My sis' tv got moved into my room since she moved out ^^ Yesterday my dad bought 5 goldfish for his outdoor pond, he's the asian type to never research anything and go with what he THINKS is the right way. SO today i get up look into the pond and there are 5 fish floating upside down near the surface. Good work dad. I have to practice english, I gave up trying to memorise Macbeth's lines...I'm just practicing how to not retardedly say old english words. Already are i'th'court? I've just completely given up on actually understanding shakespear. I kinda just rely on the italic captions on the opposite page.
GOOD LUCK TO THE SCIENCE ACCELERANTS FOR TMR! sleep early. it works.

My eyes are having that red lighting blood vessel effect around the white areas. They are sore, dry very quickly and hurting to blink for some odd reason. So for tonight I'm off to do mando homework and enlgish practice (which i havent even started)
BYEBYE
Edit: Now my right eye is twitching uncontrollably, maybe i should go to sleep... Did you know that eating too many carrots can make your skin turn orange?

Multi....Cultural! and toilets?
So MC day today and I spent... $15. I guess i spent most of my time watching wrestling and playing table tennis. Did i mention I absolutely pwned everyone else there? =D *cough* I wana eat wahabzadahs tabouli- man that tabouli was good. At first I was like "you are never going to sell the tabouli" -shakes head- I'd never thought I would actually buy it, and crave it now. I thought it would be some crappy retail/ woolies tabouli, but it was actually made by a leb dudes mum (the ONLY leb dude in our grade), yesyesyes it was good, I feel so lame talking about this.
Highlight of the day: seeing pink turbans/eating tabouli/ wearing nerd glasses, rice farmer hat/ seeing indian dancing
LOLOLOL racheI feel sorry for your non profiting stall- plz don't uber hard squish my cheeks on monday. Btw I noticed that A shaved off his armpit hair for a dance because at one point he has to lift his arms XD that instantly reminded me of that lynx dry ad. Also are people really that turned off armpit hair? :O If so then yay, no problem for me coz i dont have any, okay why did i just say that publicly online. Too bad I'm asian thats my excuse. (I'm only kidding, partially..)
Yes guys are weird like that, for example in the guys changerooms certain individuals lift their arms and pull at the hair and go "LOOOK at that hair bitch, wooooh" and here i am feeling so left out. Boys changerooms: Imagine a small, dark, smelly (of all sorts of bodily teenage guy odours, mixed with a tad too much deo, also the toilets being connected to our changerooms doesn't help either), loose garments here and there, I think I've seen red underwear (a couple), a stray sock or two and black pe shorts. Oh speaking of toilets reminds me of the time I accidently walked into the womens toilets at a restaurant and the toilet cubicle was both full, I was like "hey wtf what sort of toilets don't have a trough (i think they're called urinals)?, psshhh cheap restaurant" -truth dawns- "OH SHIT" -runs out- If you ever go to CHina don't go to public toilets, the worse I've seen is when theres 2 troughs in the ground running parallel to the two walls and the toilet doors are running parallel to the trough, and when you need to do whatever you need to do, you squat and let it flow into the trough, it then runs down down down to a huge hole where everything goes. If you;re ever in this situation i suggest you pick the top cubicle, because its kinda nasty when you're at the end of the line nearest to the hole and you see your neighbours deposits going pass (yes i HAVE seen it).
Well i hope you enjoyed todays post, go eat something, it'll make you feel better (:
Ciao?

So we're learning about evolution in class now, and just wondering, do the creationist christians in my class just glaze over this topic? And when they're asked a question in a test, do the have to write an answer that they themselves do not believe in? hmmm
So today in history elective we have garlic bread, lasagna, and goji berry gelato/ sobet (provided by our group), hmm i wonder what's the difference. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever had Goji berries. I just lost a $2 coin playing heads or tails with myself in the bathroom, I flicked it up, missed the catch and it went right down my sink >.<
Multicultural day tomorrow. I have nothing asian-y to wear! Maybe I should just dress really fob just fully suit up with a rice harvesting hat. There are these peasant farmers in china that work in suits so they can give the image of themselves as rich business men.

So today for history elective, our group chose italian cuisine. What word first comes to mind when i say italian food? PIZZAAAA. SO we made a classic margherita pizza with buffalo cheese. Did you know that the first pizza was served to queen Margherita in Italy in the colours of the italian flag? (tomatoes- red, basil-green, cheese- white). We could only use the school microwaves to heat up the pizzas, making the (homemade dough) base a bit soggy. We followed the masterchef recipe- because we're just that pro (: Since a certain someone, wasn't here (the one meant to bring the gelato) we had no dessert and we looked uber stingy compared to other groups >.< Oh and P almost cut my finger off as he was cutting the pizza, I was pulling off a piece of pizza I told him to keep cutting, he kinda FORGOT MY FINGER WAS STILL THERE, and i actually FELT the blade on my finger. I was expecting it to gush blood any second or uno -skin forms a little white line- and slowly gets filled with blood, but nothing. Luckily the school is so cheap that we can't afford proper knives that actually cut.

Busdrivers
Stolen from issy XD
Bus drivers can make me =D :) :S :/ D= :( >=(There is the mean type:- Grunts for answers, doesn't look at you, waves you away, shouts at the students.
There is the annoying type:- Like today an Indian (nothing against indians..) busdriver in a turban, who actually takes a student's buspass holds it up to his face, bends it, holds it up to the light and continues to inspect it for a couple of minutes, as the line becomes longer and longer. Then if he is not satisfied/ dislikes the student, he waves them away by making some lame excuse as "this pass is not valid", "this pass doesn't say that you can use it at blacktown station", "send it back to the company, for now you have to pay".
There is the mean looking but infact quite nice type:- Today i took out money for the bus fare, expecting him to give me change, but instead he just waves me on.
There is the nice type:- A bit chubby and talkative.
There is the eager type (obviously new to the job):- Asks people on the bus about their lives/ where they live/ what grade he/she is in a bit too much.
Today the busdriver didn't stop when I pressed the STOP button and went straight past my stop. So i had to walk down the road and almost got hit by a car as I attempted to j-walk in a difficult to see car stretch of the road.
It's hard not to talk when your friend gives someone something and that someone asks you what the something is a week or two beforehand.

Yes, I do hate haircuts.
Give me something to write! My life is boring on the weekends... I'll edit this post if I manage to think of something. I'm actually quite surprised I've managed to write a post (nearly) everyday for more than two months. And when I don't have enough time to post I feel uber guilty because I promised I would post everyday :(

My dad came home from china today. And he brought lots of chinese/ shanghainese food. I kinda forgot about his nagging until he came back home, just wondering, who nags you more your mum or dad? In my case its definitely my dad, my mum nags a lot but in a subtle and easily ignorable way. With my dad, he demands an answer from the same question he asks everyday and theres kindof a predecided answer that i am obliged to say.
He brought some boiled crabs home from Shanghai (are you allowed to bring seafood overseas? maybe he smuggled it heheh), thus bringing me to the topic of the day CRABS (no not THOSE kind of crabs). I like crabs, its probably my favourite seafood, the meat is tender, slightly sweet and overall quite good. omnomnomnom. Btw do you eat the yellow crab roe inside? heaps of people think it's yucky and throw it away. And if you're thinking ewwww, then trust me you are missing out, it definitely is the best part of the crab. Nex ttime try it! but get your mind away from the colour grossness and you'll be fine.
Ever eaten a horseshoe crab? They look like armoured stingrays..

I think today was a whole 10 degrees hotter than yesterday. Today in netball, i scored two goals (are they called goals?) in the first game, but in the second game i randomly got those stomach aches that hurt you to move, so I was making heaps of mistakes (passing to opposition, missing passes etc.) Btw sorry to the short person who i almost smashed into trying to get the ball from a rebound, I didn't see you... in the heat of the moment i only really look ahead and where the ball is at, so i didn't notice you D: I didn't think anyone was there :S
I got my work experience record back, so I can hand it in tomorrow! 2 weeks late, not bad, not bad at allll

Wang's roots
Today I shall tell you a story about my ancestry and how my last name came to be. Sorry, but this will be quite a pointless post to the people I've already told this to.
I'd like to call this story, 'The Wang Legacy'
Once upon a time, a long long time ago in ancient China, my ancestors' lastname was 'fung'. However, they had committed some kind of crime and the emperor sent his soldiers to execute the whole family, including all relatives (cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents), so the lastname would never live on. If a family committed a crime, the whole family and relatives would be executed. So all the relatives got killed, except for one...-dramatic music plays- he managed to escape to the fishing village of ningbo and changed his last name from fung, to a much more common lastname, wang to avoid risk of being caught. With little possessions and money he managed to start a simple, poor peasant life. It stayed like this, until after a few generations one confident young boy was born. Now we don't know if this part is entirely true, but family history has it that he walked from ningbo to Shanghai (the big city) in the middle of winter with nothing but the clothes on his back (bear grylls style!) and a pair of shoes, seeking fortune and a better life. Although he had a pair of shoes, those shoes cost quite a lot of money, so he saved those shoes and walked bare footed in the snow. My relatives live in Shanghai till this day, and my dad came to Australia to have me and seek a better life.
Sources: My dad, one lazy sunday afternoon with those -father and son- talks, that happened to stumble on my oh so controversial last name. My dad heard this story from his dad who got it from his dad who got it from his dad etc etc.
Okay Idk if the ningo -> shanghai bit is entirely true, but hey we're in Shanghai now! In fact the whole story itself may have been a tad contorted over the generations, but it's something along the lines of that.
If you're bored and have nothing else to do, you should ask your parents about your ancestral roots, hey you never know, you might just learn something interesting about yourself like I did! (:

I just last minute did my science assignment, probably the same with most people. Tomorrow i'll go to hillsbus seven hills depot to see if my wallet has turned up, and if it hasn't then I am going to get owned by my parents. Gosh the day i lost the wallet, I saw the bus leaving was having an -OH NO- moment, when really it was just going to the bus depot like a few minutes away. SO if i WAS SMART, i could've just walked there and picked it up straightaway. I didn't realise the stop that seven hills was the last stop.
Some things you didn't know about me:
- My second toe is longer than my big toe (just)
- I can't curl my tongue into a hollow tube
- I am EXTREMELY unflexible, to the point where sitting down on the floor cross legged normally is difficult and my back kills after sitting for a long time. I've perfected my own awkward somewhat less painful sitting position
- I play tennis
- I can't speak mando
- I was born in Australia
- My last name was never originally 'wang'
Can't think of anything else now, I'm going to sleep bright any early today. I'm trying to sleep before 12am nowdays.

WHY AM I SO DAMN FORGETFUL. Today on the bus home I left my wallet on the seat. I realised halfway walking up the stairs. Rushed straight back down to the bus bay only to see it go. I already lost my wallet half a year ago, gosh my parents are going to throw a spaz at me. I had like $40 in there D: I tried ringing the bus company apparently they'll "get back to me", in other words, I'll probably never see it again. OOOOMMMMMMGGGGGGG. I don't care THAT much about the money, it's the id card, libary card and bus/ train passes I'm worried about, because they can be a bitch to reapply for. FML
In other news, this whole week we're going to be eating in history elective class. Our assignments involve us to pick a cuisine, explain it and serve it to the class (: Today we had noodle soup, laksa, prawn crackers, kimchi and fruit salad. We're doing italian cuisine ----> gelato + homemade pizza. :)
Should i tell my parents about my wallet now? Or wait a week and hopefully get it back. .... my parents are so gonna rage at me.

Yesterdays party was FUUUN (: I didn't post yesterday because I got home at 12am. You might say, "but wait you stay up till 2am", yes although this may be true this is WITHOUT my parents knowing, without coming home 2hrs later than what I had originally told her and without my mum needing to stay up that late to wait for me. In such situations as these, while in my friend's car although I KNOW it's going to take at least 30minutes, as I'm ringing my mum I tell her that it's going to take around 15minutes just to test her mood. If she seems in a nice mood I pull to a more correct time "ohhh about 15-20 maybe 25 minutes" maybe later. If she rages into my phone, I stick with 15minutes and make up some lame excuse such as "the traffic was bad", "we got lost". HEY it works.
Party- I'll not go into detailed description because somethings are meant to stay at parties. It can be summarised in a couple of words, ripped pants, BBQ, singing (badly), table soccer, hair waxing, prank calls, balloons (will not go into detail ), stacks on with around 12 people, oh and puppy (I'm not scared of dogs). Btw eating a whole sachet of wasabi is not a good idea. Unless it's a dare in which case you HAVE to do it, or it ruins the tradition. Well if you haven't experienced it, you could either set your nose on fire, or pour pepper into your nose, I think it would generate the same effect. But put these all together add a couple of friends and you get one awesome night/party (:
Eat all these, and I swear I'll pay you $20, 1 of them is hard enough....

PAIN
Why does my right pelvis always hurt after playing soccer for one an a half hours every week? Note to self: do not attempt to chest a ball that is flying at you from the midpoint of the field. Instead do 'the Ophelia'. This highly advanced defence mechanism protects ones face and frontal region from flying projectiles if one is too scared to face them. To execute this, you must be a master of skill and evasion, it involves turning a whole 180 degrees, ducking then covering your own face.
Females are stereotypically feel more physical pain than guys. Daniel will now reveal the truth about these statements (: I recently read this: "Females are more sensitive to pain, less tolerant and more able to discriminate different levels of pain than males," OMG he put it in quotation marks, it must be true! But seriously a study on humans and animals prove this. So don't worry, it's not that you guys are weaker! You're just born to feel more physical pain (Y) kekeke i hate to be you during child birth :D

Screw the 30 day challenge, I can't be bothered, and most of them are going to be N/A

Cold crisis
Okay now I have reached stay 3 and 4 of the cold- uber runny nose and lost of taste. Runny noses? what does that mean? TISSUES, and lots of them. Today I brought a whole packet of tissues to school, and just after recess they were all used up. A friend of mine suggested last resort dried up tissues, but I didn't even have any of them! All my tissues were soggy and wet since they didn't have time to dry up. And then i used up my tissues to the extent of them being a mass of white soggy tissues that break up in clumps in your hand (ever experienced that before?). I have a -painful red patch below nose due to excessive snot blowing and tissue friction- Our school is too cheap to put tissues in front of classrooms. Now you have to ask for a tissue, the teacher brings it out of the storeroom you take ONE and the teacher puts it back in the storeroom.
Yep, you really needed know this.
I have a really funny/epic picture of me that I just remembered about today, but i can't find it on my computer D=

I got a paper cut from my maths test as soon as i got it back today. I wonder what that shows... yay I finally got work experience = no need to work at kmart or even worse GIRRAWEEN HIGH SCHOOL *shudders*. Deo sharma is lame, me being in the front row, he kept wasting 15minutes of my time asking if I had gotten this sheet, if I had gotten that booklet, whether I had gotten this test back and telling us we had 20minutes to complete the geography essay tomorrow and realising he made a mistake and told us we had 30minutes to do it as the bell rang and everyone went into "yay recess time" -ignore teacher- mode. By the way, he writes the exact same comment in every report, and changes the names. Something along the lines of: "daniel is a good, quiet and conscientious student who works well with his peers, this definitely shows in his marks. Marks can be further improved through early and thorough revision at home". I just read my year 9 and 10 report comments.
My immune system is not holding up, I'm in stage 2 of the common cold. BLOCKED NOSE. nuuuuuuuu
Day 11 — A Deceased person you wish you could talk to
I don't know anyone deceased.

My throat is very flemmy, sore and I'm coughing a lot. Not a good sign. Must. Not. Get. Sick. Before. Party.
Day 10 — Someone you don’t talk to as much as you’d like to
Hullo, I really only really started to get to know you this year. You seemed so stoned and uninviting at first glance. And also seemed really sad at your rather superior maths marks which you deem too be inferior, in an attempt to make people feel better, but it generally has the opposite effect. Certain people think you're cold -physically and mentally- (which it may seem from the outside), me included, but they really don't know you well enough and misinterpret your innocent actions for ones of deceit. You're a weirdo, in a strange and unique way, I guess that's why it's interesting to talk to you...
I'm glad I started to talk to you all those months before, and i hope we can get to know each other better. And don't forget me after highschool D: Others should get to know you, you're cooooool (:

Little kids
today I went on a leadership program at Girraween primary school, and it was a very nostalgic experience. Let's just say that in my whole classroom there were 2 white kids 2 asians and 26 little curry kids. So the teacher told me to tell my name to the class, I did, and then he was like "welcome daniel please children", kids simultaneously chant: "Good mmmmOOOOOOrning dddaaaannniieeelll" with a prominent higher pitch in the middle of morning. It's normally good morning, but with these kids it had to be good mooooorning, I'm making no sense am I? I was laughing at first then, I had a wave of nostalgia *hey I used to do that!*. It's still amusing to see new year 7s go Good Moooorning ms Dasnevasss every new year. (I remember doing that aswell on the first assembly of year 7, followed by sniggering of grades above). Btw we were late so all we got to do was say "hi" to our kids before they had to leave for fitness. Yup well worth the skipping of maths.
On the way back theres this gate at the back of the primary school which leads to a faster route back to our school. But it was closed, so like the good older/mature role models we were we decided to jump the fence and break their school rules on our first day. Slowly as we were walking past we realised the teachers and little kids doing fitness had silently watched us jump over the fence. I hope we don't get verbally raped tomorrow at assembly.
Day 9 — Someone you wish you could meet
No-one gosh I'm so boring, I have like no idols.

So today I went to the city to help my sis unload. Using my *brute* -cough- strength I was able to assemble the bed and lift cupboards and wardrobes into my sis' room. Her and her room mates rented out the top 3 levels, so they have 3 balcony's! You can see the harbour and anzac bridge kekeke... I was leaning over the side enjoying the views, when SUDDENLY, I realised that I was very very high indeed and if I had happened to slip and fall over the side...so i stepped back and enjoyed the views there. My sister being on the top floors reminded me of that international Malaysian uni student who was on the top level of a building when a guy was trying to rape her and she jumped off 10 stories of building and died... If i was her I would've just gotten raped, HEY better than jumping to your death! In the end I'm happy for her (my sister), but it suddenly hit me... that I would never see her again unless I actually go out to visit her... For lunch we had thai- pad see ew (stir fried noodles with vegetables etc etc)
Do you ever come to think that you can never really come back to being 15/16 again? I just randomly reminisced with my friend about primary school life and how great it was, but we're never able to go back to that moment of time.
I just realised my sister owned one of those expensive ceramic hair straighteners as I was helping her unpack. And my parents are nagging me about how hard I have to work now that my sister can't help me etc etc...
Day 8 — Your favorite internet friend
I'm taking an internet friend as one you have never met before. It's a funny story really, we met on facebook through an argument on one of her photo's on a public group. (It was about height, which is a subject I am VERY passionate about (Y) Now I talk to her a lot on facebook, she seems nice (: I just hope she doesn't turn out to be a fat old pedo man who wants to stalk me.
When was the last time you ate a chuppa chup? I'm sucking on one now, and I just realised its probably been years since I last had one
