Back on the mainland- exploring shanghaiii

Hey guys so I'm back from hong kong and i've noticed many things different. For one everything is so salty and i swear my mother can cook better than most of the restaurants/ ALso people don;t like up here, like you know how you line up in a store to buy something... Wel here it's kind of a mob fighting to throw out their money. ALso on the trains people don't wait for you to get out first, you pretty much have to fight your way out. There was an elderly man who nearly fell trying to get off the metro the other day... oh god, doesnt look like im painting a very good image of china am i LOL.
^ "lining" up for red bean sticky rice pudding

THen yesterday I visited the bund inshanghai and my parents showed me the exact spot that they first met each other and went on their first date almost 40 years ago. WE also walked along the river that my parents spent a lot of their time together as young lovers. SOlid family history learning here hehhh (8 so you see guys the photo of these steps arent jsut any steps they're very meaningful steps :P it was jsut along the street of my mums house, and then I think of my own street lollollol how lame and unromantic :L then my mum was pointing out the old building and significance of it all in their childhood and we walked along a river where my parents had their first kiss. Kinda romantic but kinda tmi and ew at the same time LOL I culd see my parents were getting a bitttt tooo melancholic there ahaha.

Yes the two rubbish bins are not very romantic i know, but hey at least they're a couple, symbolic of my parents? maybe not hahaha

Oh yeah and I also met my nephew. The child of my cousin (I was flowerboy for his wedding in china 5years ago). His name is sun something something yu so i just call him yu yu or "xiao yu" LOL. I told him to smile and this is what he gave me.

Troll from a young age, /notsureifiapproveornot. WELL ANYWHO THIS IS WHAT HE GETS THE WHOLE WORLD SHALL SEE HIS FACE. I think i've become his personal punching bag now.... he charges at me and headbutts me in the crotch... because his head is like at crotch level, yes because you all needed to know that. (im sure you did)

And also hong kong has a lot more porn magazines and videos just lying in street stalls whereas you dont really find them in shanghai (not that i go looking for them or anything >.>) LOL. ANd to conclude this rather lengthy and content heavy post i shall express my concern and difficulty of ordering at chinese restaurants as an english only reader in this picture that explains all.

Fashion here is so good! QAQ haven't seen a pair of Nike tn's anywhere in ages yayaya 8) I have photos to blog but cant figure out how to upload using iPad :( but yeah today is my last day in hong kong, hong kong is soo cool sfjudshfshivsshhdvdsjhf it's like Australia with all the coolness of Asian culture wouldn't mind staying here heh. Also I went to hong kong university omg it"s literally 10x bigger than usyd and surrounded by forests... Also I like th uniform here! The Chinese school uniforms look like track suits whereas the uniforms here resemble our uniforms, except the girls have more diverse styles and wear these cute little tie/bow things(8 even though tbh even the seniors look like they're in year 7 looool and ffs amount of couples here are ridiculous I know I keep saying this but literally everywhere I just saw 6 couples in a row making out coming down the escalators. High schoolers uni students and 80 year old retired people... The diversity here, but nowhere to divert my eyes from the mushiness lol. And the fooood everything is so cheap because everything is tax free I had a deep fried pig intestine on a stick, hot chips with cheddar cheese sauce, roast goose, star fruit fruit smoothie, dragon fruit drink etc etc. and the local Asian supermarket is has x10 variety of tong li...

Life's good.
Inb4 shit atar. I'm actually worried, one months time I may not be so happy arggh. W/e

Greetings from Hong kong!

So just spend a while walking around central in Kowloon hong kong, and there are soooooooo many couples making out near the harbour. The record of couples that I counts in a row was 9.... And here I am a forever alone foreign tourist. Walked past the walk of fame with all these famous hk stars, none of which I have heard of lol. But yeah the lights the architecture the girls are a lot better than in china keekeke and another thing, everyone is so short here LOL. But omfg I love this uncensored Internet and direct YouTube, blogger, facebook access, YOU GUYS TAKE IT FO GRANTED I TELLYOU!   Then I ate roast duck for dinner next to a mushy couple who were so into each other and were clearly full but continued to order bowls of lettuce to feed each other with =='

Strolling, shopping, yum cha and sight seeing tomorrow!
Feels great to leave the parents for a while..
Photos coming soon :) I LIKE HONG KONG heheh :D

Greetings from Shanghai!

I AM 10000KM AWAY FROM MY SOCIAL LIFE WOOOOOOO watsup.
OMGGGGGGGGGGGG FINALLY GOT THIS TO WORK mother of god, suffering from major blogger withdraws. I had a lot to blog about as soon as i got here 10 days ago but i only managed to get onto this today, SO this will be an extremely condensed post about my life,  just a little of my observations and revelations during my travels so far.

First meals in shanghai yeeee

WELLLLLLL i've already spent 3 days in shanghai and 8 days in Beijing.
- No one smiles here, when i got off the plane at shanghai everyone was just so cold like WHY SO SSERRRIOUSSS comrades?!?! Also on beijing tour when we were in our little mini golf carts i did an experiment and turns out only 1 in 6 people wave back to you when you wave at them. and about 1 in 10 smile at you. I reckon if it was in AUstralia it'd be more like 9 in 10. I'm really appreciating and understanding the cultural differences here.
- I feel like my life is in danger whenever i cross a street in china. Regardless of zebra crossings or green walking man lights cars, buses and trucks zoom weave in and around pedestrians. I admire local girls who as it appeared to my untrained eyes seemingly nonchalantly walks into the middle of ongoing traffic on a busy highway. Imagine someone walking calmly across the great western highway whilst listening to music and talking on her phone. Whereas i was shatting my pants wondering when to cross the road and ended up running across the road and receiving wtf looks from everyone. /firstworldproblems
- Then in beijing there was this good-looking chick while i was walking with the family in a shopping centre and i was checking her out (as you do) and then she started picking her nose and we established awkward eye contact. I proceeded to avert my eyes for the sake of herself and myself only to see that she continued to pick her nose and did a flicking motion. Evidently the awkwardness was not a mutual feeling. meh noregrets LOL. except i'm kind of sad because i prided myself in being someone who does not feel any awkwardness yet i was defeated in an instant in the land of china :(
- EVERYONE wears uniforms here from the checkout chick to the security guards to the cleaners. Like seriously imagine ANY service that exists in china and some type of uniform will be involved.
- People think I'm retarded because they don't understand that just because i look chinese doesn't mean i can speak mandarin. One even asked my dad if i went to school or if i can speak english. /feelsbadman. But to be honest i'm really enjoying it here more than the last time i came here 5 years ago when i couldn't understand a word of mandarin. Now i can understand maybe 50%... i even had a nice conversation with an 18 year old who was at a foot massage parlour that we went to. We were both reflecting on our forever aloneness LOOL (and just for the record he to was wearing a uniform). They were actually doing some weird synchronised exercise with flags in their fluro yellow, I gangnam styled in between them and around them, turns out trolls aren't really appreciated here :(
- Also the ascent and descent of a plane is beautiful. Especially seeing a city so high up that it looks like a massive lego set and then eventually descending to it's own level and feeling like an ant.
- haven't used my brain in almost 2 weeks, can feel it turning to mush...
- And that is all i can think of at the moment oh yeah and on a side note, i also went to the great wall, temple of heaven, chengde, tianjing, tianamen square, birds nest stadium, the forbidden palace and saw some shaolin monks break metal using their heads (pree sure it was grey foam, seeing as bits of 'metal' floated down the stage LOL), meh was okay. ANd now enjoy some dodgy photos which shall explain all...
yeeee feels like I'm in an ancient drama. (This actually was the place that palace was filmed, this place was meant for women only oooft). Also... so.many.people.everywhere.
Taking selfies in 0 degree weather on the great wall like a bosss. Also evidently the rain doesn't stop tourists LOL.
Some village, some park with snow and frozen lake. I like the last picture a lot, not bad for iPod touch camera quality huh, should really bring another camera but w.e
Cannot get over these squat toilets. This was the only one i could find that was semi clean. ANd next to it are my long road trip snacks FINALLY GREEN TEA POCKY. So cheap that sausage and pocky together cost me like $1.50 aud.

I also don't see the point in having these moving escalator things on the floors of airports. It's actually slower than walking... I also don't understand western models in chinese advertisements. My 80 year old grandpa looks better than this guy. legit. 70 year old pedo man doesn't do it for me sorry.

P.S. I have a lot more photos but they aren't that great haaha, have to say the scenery here is pretty amazing. hope class of 2012 enjoyed their formal today (Y) :) I was really looking forward to the after party aswell but oh well looks like i'll just have to go twice as hard on nye ahahh.

Alright guys hope you're having fun, until next time :)

China + Korea!

Blogging from Australia for the last time until 2 months!
brb inhaling the precious non polluted fresh aussie air LOLOLOL.
Alrighties im off to the land of no blogger/facebook/youtube/phone until the 27th of December So this means blog posts will be very infrequent or cease to exist at all unless i'm able to somehow get onto blogger in China. I might be on skype (daaniieellll)/ msn every so often so contact me through thereeee.
To my year 12 buddays hope everything goes well and I'm sure you'll achieve your goal atars and you can tell me alllll about it when i return :D gl to the chemistriessss and VA i'll be chillin in China while you're doing your exams ;D I WILL RETURN AND I EXPECT TO BE PARTYING HARD SO DON"T GET ALL PARTIED OUT ON ME KTHNXBYE.

Oh noes how am i going to survive without being able to express my thoughts onto here like i have since year 10 :(:( i might purchase a vpn or something fah. /chinaproblems. Seriously it's so damn unnacceptable the internet MEANS that it is able to be accessed by anyone anywhere. China you just have one massive intranet. I can't believe i ahve to download all my favourite shows because "foreign media" sites in china are blocked like srs. ALso another thing my cousin is disabled and unable to walk it's bullshit how because of his body he can't get an education or even go out of his apartment much because there arent any elevators or ramps installed in his apartment. BUUTTT i will be visiting him (Y) since hes known me since i was born, literally. K hopefully i dont see snsd in korea because if i do, i may just faint right then and there on the street hahaha

ANyways 2 months with my parents.... 2 months without seeing any of my friends.... I don't know how i'll survive. Well guys im going to be gangnam styling down nanjing road in shanghai because THAT is how dedicated i am LOOOL.

Shall see you guys sooooon, appreciating the farewell conversations hahah (Y)

I was hoping to keep a travel journal on this blog but considering it's blocked in china if im not able to find an alternative i'll blog on my tumblr as a last resort. (: stay tuned guuisseeee :)

Paranormal activity 4

was shit. Weak plotline, untied ends, poor horror scenes, uneventful and boring. To actually be scared by this you've got to be like age 10 or someshit, although not even the kid behind me was probably age 10 and  he was laughing at the people dying. Only slightly exciting bit was maybe the last minute, at least things happen but it was just some overused generic zombie scene. 2/10 don't watch this plz i want my $16 back. First horror that i've watched in probably more than a year, disappoint.

SO now that HSC is over my dad gave me a pep talk about girls and also on me being too thin and need to work out... LOL what a troll

Trackwork today i had to take a train from central to strathfield, then bus from strathfield to parramatta, then train (which was delayed 10minutes) from parramatta to blacktown. THen paulswarehouse on george street was closed today so no new chucks, bummmerrrrrr. Still managed to chillax until 5:40 or something, but hey i have nothing else to do at home anyway ;D

should start packing nowwww.

I hate when people start a conversation with me and take 10minutes to respond meanwhile i've already forgot what the hell we were talking about. If you don't want to commit to the conversation dont start one. I can even accept 5minutes it's all good but if it's going to be 10 15minute response at least say ttyl or brb or someshit. Then i respond instantaneously making me look like a bored sad person and again wait 10minutes for you to respond :/....pet peeves.

7/7- the end

As i exit the exam hall for the last time i have an irresistible spontaneous urge to gangnam style and that I did simply because I CAN. As i walk through the schools frolicking in the grassyfields i release that it will be the last time i will ever walk through the well trodden muddy path winding from the top of the school which i have become oh so accustomed to. The weather seemingly perfect, mild and cooling breeze prickling the nerves of my face as i stare into the cloudy fragmented sunny blue hue of the sky above me, I feel a massive weight metaphorically and physically has been lifted off my shoulders seemingly as if nature has come to celebrate with me. Meanwhile the ironic pangs of nature calling serves to remind me of the effects of a 3 hour exam on my body while i embark on the fruitless yet desperate search for a school toilet which remains unlocked after 5pm. /ends this tone

Why i am blogging at this time you ask, because i can and because i can sleep in and because i don't have any nagging school related commitments at the back of my head! so why the hell not (: WEll today perhaps even more than graduation i feel like it really was well and truly the end the of uniform, the end of school exams, the end of... being a member of Girraween High School. I probably feel more attached than other because i've only ever been in two educational institutions in my life, blacktown south public school and Girraween high school.

^this. So i was so happy with joy that i gangnam styled into my front door past my dad into the kitchen to my mother and received a what the fuck is wrong with my son look LOLOLLO but idccccc because i was just so happy. ANd i realised that at this precise moment my mother is unable to nag to me about 'wasting my time' or  telling me to do work somewhich which she's pretty much been doing for my entire life since kindergarten LOOOL i made this fact quite clear to her and she assured me not to worry because once uni starts she would start the nagging again (she actually said that lol)

As for uniform well this really was the last time of 13 years of uniform wearing, I've taken it for granted because im pretty sure i'll miss it in uni and having to think about what to wear. But i'd say i've had a good run reppin the black and yellow over the years. And it looks pretty good if i do say so myself ;D hahah but for now it shall be permanently stored in my wardrobe. THe Varsity seems like a waste though since the quality and material is still pretty good, might wear it at home haha. Gosh while i was waiting at the busstop (for the bus that never came) i was telling my friend how it was unbelievable how we have actually like actually reached the end, pretty deceiving how fasts time goes. THen i was like next thing you know another 13 years will fly by and we'll be married with kids and he backed away and told me not to think that far hahahahha, still along way to go!

As for the legal studies exam, i honestly dont really care now since it's over and the entire HSC is over. Nothing too challenging or unheard of during the test, the 15 marker for crime was a bitch challenging and not particularly flexible but yeah whatever. Was pretty scared for multiple choice, i found the first five challenging but rest hopefully went okay. I think i've had a generally chilled, laid back and non stressed approach towards my HSC, i can't help it i cant become one of those crazy 10hr a day hardcore students. I won't get as high atar as them but hey, that's just me :D anyways my atar is now pretty much predetermined! an whether i get into my course or not is up to fate now and I'll found out on the 19th, pree scary since all i can do now is wait! Saw a classmate on facebook say that he accidently brought hope his HUman Rights short answer inside his question booklet. Amidst his swearing and raging (which is to be expected) i really do feel sorry for him, sometimes luck isn't on your side, like during my english advanced exan... Not really friends with him but i hope everything gets sorted for him

well it's time to move on kids! if you think about it HSC is only the beginning you really only had to worry about your studies as a high school student, but now you have to worry about a job, uni, future, relationships, MONEY shit gets real guys but let the good times rollllll!

I'm off to my first post hsc outing tomorrow, the first outing (excluding library) that i've had for MONTHS. It'll probably be my last for a while until i come back to australia, but just glad to chill and hang out after a well deserved HSC run before i head off for china/korea on monday~~

Friday, November 2, 2012

well i have a mission, a mission to complete my HSC, and that mission will be completed at 5pm today. Hugs will be given, tears of joy will be shed, school ground will be kissed. Lol just kidding, except for the maybe the last part TROLOLOL. And i will be FREE from the claws of my HSC girflriend who has continually raped me over during my whole year 12 life. I'm strangely calm, i think the butterflies effect in my stomach died down by the second week of hsc LOL.
