bus-ing

Today on the first bus to seven hills from my school, something quite annoying happened. This year 11 girl bumped into me on the bus as I was sitting down, when the bus does one of those really sudden stops that send people flying (not the people sitting down of course =]) and then she says "sorry kiddo'. W-T-F mann I am NOT a 'kiddo', she was only 1 grade older than me and I was a good HEAD taller than her. She had no right to call me that! GRR why do people still think i'm so young even though I'm not that short anymore. Is it my baby face? =( I don't have a baby face... (do I? O.o) Seriously do I even LOOK like I'm in year 7? JEEEZ *cough* *cough*. Also through the whole ride she had her jumper/ 3Unit maths textbook sticking in my face. Then as she goes to talk to people she practically yells at them while right next to my ear, with spittle flying everywhere.

Then on the bus from Blacktown station to my house, which I almost missed because I had underestimated the length of time the elderly people in front of me would take buying their bus tickets, and was therefore talking to a friend a tad longer, the bus driver closed the door on me. And I had to do some frantic waving of the arms responded with -looking but pretending not to look- looks from people on the bus and a grunt from the bus driver. Back to my point, there was this fatty who practically had his pooey, big, fat ass right in my face as I was trying to listen to music on the trip home.

I seem to be unlucky with buses on Wednesdays.

Today when I got up and looked outside my whole yard was frosted. My dad's vege patch had ice all over the place. I hate exposing my skin to the coldness of the air as I change into my school clothes in the morning. Those few seconds are sooo painful. As we're about to leave (after the car choked to life) my dad wasted 10minutes trying to hose down the sheets of ice off of our car windows, this was easier said then done because the hose itself was frozen inside. So after awhile of fumbling around with hot water and various gardening implements he managed to get the water running and wipe off the ice. SO we could finally get on our way. Just some everyday insight into Daniel's school mornings.

Have you ever eaten a Pavlova before? You know the cake sort of thing but instead of flour the base is beaten egg whites and on top is cream and bite sized pieces of fruit. We'll yea I tried a slice yesterday and although light and fluffy the beaten egg whites were SOOOOO sweet. Get a handful of caster sugar pour it in your mouth swash it around and then you'll know how sweet it was.

Too much free time.

This shall be a long post, because 1. I'm pretty carefree because of the lack of homework and assignments at this time of the term and 2. I deactivated my facebook for a week as a challenge.

OKKK my stomach hurts and I'm feeling a bit sick because I had too much to eat just then for my dad's birthday hotpot dinner, but back onto the main topic of hair. I hate how when I wake up in the morning look in the mirror and find my hair sticking up in all sorts of angles. The look can range from devil horns to an asian afro resembling look, where my hair becomes all puffy. It takes me aggeessss in the bathroom to try to feebly pat down my stubborn hair with (freezing cold) water in the morning. My stupid hair is so freaking hard once it stay in the same position all night it's like a permanent mould in the morning, that is something else I envy about my mother, SOFT HAIR (along with dimples, double eyelids and lack of pimples). Sometimes I have to resort to using hair gel which is quite nasty, it's sticky, smelly and looks weird.

This has been a recurring topic in many blogs, COLDNESS. Tonight and into tomorrow the weather will drop to -2 degrees Celsius. Tomorrow the MAXIMUM temp will be 15 degrees and during the morning (at around 7am) it is going to be ONE degree. So just make sure when you begin to strip as you get out of bed, DO IT FAST, or you might freeze to death before you can put on your first layer of clothing. Oh and expect to see frost in the morning aswell. So that means that tomorrow I might actually have to resort to putting on two jumpers =(, instead of the usual one. I'm also beginning to sneeze quite often, NOT a good sign. Damnit this is because Anubhav dared us to take off our jumpers and blazers during maths for the whole period. That means for around 40 minutes I sat doing maths while wearing ONE SLEEVELESS school shirt as my very SOUL began to freeze. Me keeping my (wo)manly dignity to never back down from a dare, battled it out in single digit temperatures while trying to maths, no wonder I couldn't figure out many problems my brain neurons were probably frozen. But it was funny how Keely was still colder than me even AFTER I lent her my jumper.

Ok first of all try to say IRISH WRISTWATCH out loud really fast. Betcha can't do it =D. Just something interesting I came across today. So today i went to a Lebanese restaurant it has the best falafels (ok they look like pieces of poo but still) in Sydney, i also spotted one or two cockroaches, but hey a least you know its authentic! and I had leb bread with hummus (made from chikpeas) and tabouleh (made from tomato, garlic and parsley) Yes I'll admit they all don't look that appetising but yea they ere pretty good. So now I'm fattened (and warmed) up with lebanese food on such a cold day.

I also developed quit an ugly pimple today (stupid hormones). I still have a History elective assignment to finalise (due tomorrow) so bye bye.

YAY my parents forgot about my haircut =DD

Friday, June 25, 2010

I look gay in my school photos. Whats with my retarded hair that looks like it's been cut with a lawn mower T_T theres bits and pieces everywhere =S. Oh and -note to self- open eyes when I smile. I already have severely small single lidded eyes so when i smile my eyes decrease in size even more, this results in two slits across my face. And why do my sister and mum have dimples but I don't!! how unfair.

Speaking of hair, I'm getting mine cut tomorrow =((((((((((( it's not even that long but noooo apparently it looks messy and untidy according to my parents. So now I'm going to have an uber short, gay, lame-ass cheap asian haircut.

Winter Wonderland

I'm proud of myself and my immune system I haven't gotten a cold at all yet :) Even though I'm perfectly susceptible to colds seeing as I catch a bus full of high schoolers, who knows what germs are flowing in the bus every time I get on. Anyone else notice the days getting warmer? There is totally no need to wear two jumpers now (or 6 layers in some cases), 1 jumper is enough for me nowdays =]. Also hurrah for our school because I noticed the other day that there are MANY more asians in the younger years than before, goooo the asian invasion on Girraween high school heheh.

So who's donating blood this/next year? I probably will, after all one transfusion saves THREE lives!!

And congrats to Julia Gillard on becoming the first female pm of Australia. It's just kind of sad that she was handed the position on a silver plater.

My toe has gotten worse. The pain actually fluctuates in between times of the day. Sometimes I'll be fine and other times I have trouble walking down the stairs. I really should get it checked out. Today I did my english speech (I was first up) and I'm afraid I sounded WAAAYYY to mono-toned compared to others and I think I only JUST made it inside the 4 minute mark. After the two bells I had to quickly read through my conclusion. I also purposely missed a REALLY long quote, instead of saying the whole thing I just read the end of it, I hope I don't get marked down.

Photobucket

^LOL faiiillll (at least north korea didn't do that =P)

NNOOOO the robbers KILLED the two chickens, what cruel bastards =(.

I don't know what's wrong with my big toe it's been hurting for a few days now. It hurts a lot just to bend it slightly upwards or downwards, or even putting a bit of pressure on it. Making walking let alone running painful, I have to do some weird hobble/ walking thing to move about. (It's obviously working since nobody has noticed =D). My poooor big toe =(, I hope it gets better soon. On a happier note, my house finally WON something yyaaayyyy, today we beat fraser at oztag so we aren't last we're only second last :P AND YAY my blog is now INTERNATIONAL =DDD -cheerr- kudos to the person who read my blog in America =) heheh. And screw the person who wrote they used a proxy to access it from America (probably ranjith) don't steal my thunder damnit!!!

My first time at Morning Glory

Can you FEEL the ASIANESS??
Our school is so safe we've only had 2 break-ins in a week. I found out about this while visiting the canteen to buy something only to find that all sides were boarded up -shock horror- SO i asked around and found that the school, well specifically the canteen had been robbed. Out of all houses all schools to rob why would someone rob a school already lacking in funds. I bet they were sorely disappointed because all they did was trash the canteen and steal some chips. Oh and two chickens are reported missing aswell. Apparently there were tire marks at the bottom oval, HOW a car managed to get into the school grounds when we actually HAVE gates are beyond me...Our laptops are getting taken tomorrow so I have to delete all my movies and shows =( It's in alphabetical order from your FIRST name, jeez the ONLY time i thought my last name would be an advantage it just has to be first names. Okay I'm going to be practicing my english speech all night, because I'm pretty certain I'm going to have to do it tomorrow.

Alice in Wonderland

Ok I watched Alice in Wonderland, yesterday and I would give it a 3/10. Awesome special effects, music and great actors (Johnny Depp, Anne hathaway etc), but the storyline was really very slow and boring. The storyline dragged out for wayy too long, basically she fell down a rabbit and drank a potion to make her smaller to get through a door (this took like 1 hour to establish) then she met the hatter and there was a war between the good side and the bad side, which ended up her killing a dragon like thingg. THE END. Seriously that was all that happened and the film dragged it on for 2hours! I was getting revved up for an awesome movie because i was amazed at how spectacular the special effects were in the beginning, only to be disappointed half way through and waiting for SOMETHING to happen, and even the fight at the end was pretty lame. Everything else was great, but in the end a movie is only as good as its storyline. Seriously don't bother watching this movie, If you already have, then how was it for you?

It feels great to have a slowing amount of assignments and tests as the holidays draw ever closer. It's awesome how there aren't at least 1 or 2 assignments or tests due in a single week (I think it was like that from week 3-7), so now i can KINDOF relax a bit. And speaking of tests, I am happy to say my mandarin test went okay afterall =D I did overestimate it a tad and managed to get 98% with only two wrong (silly mistakes and I forgot how to write the pin ying =S). So theres a bit of yayness in my life today. So now I'm about the watch Alice in Wonderland with my sis, that she downloaded so I shall rant or rave about that tomorrow. Sleep early everyone it promotes growth =D

Jumpers

Don't you just hate itchy woolen sweaters? My parents made me wear my dad's grandpa resembling, grey sweater, because I'm apparently not wearing enough and I'll catch a cold, you know the usual asian parent nagging business. It is actually quite warm, problem is, it feels like a hundred toothbrush bristles are constantly brushing against all areas of your skin.
Well it's the end of another weeks, this week has been summed up in a couple of words: hectic, short, exciting and rather enjoyable. It's just felt really short, probably because I had 2 excursions out of 5 days, 1 day was a public holiday and tuesday always feels short from the 45min periods and sport etc etc. Thus ending week 9, which meeaannnns only TWO more weeks to the holidaayyys -cheeers- any holiday plans? =o and tomorrow I have this mega important mandarin test at saturday school, I'm guessing I'll be fine since there are 7 yr olds in my class, but I should still study. Daniel should really be starting Geography in the near future.

IT

If there is one thing that I've established from this excursion it is that I will DEFINITELY NOT be doing anything IT related in the future. I started off baddd, my stupid dum dum train arrived 15min later at central than it was supposed to, so I had to end up sprinting madly around the city trying to find the poo in the sky looking UTS building. Oh well at least it was free, although the train ticket cost me $4.60 T_T. All the guides were females, which was probably to prevent us from thinking that IT is for stereotypical dorky asian males with bulky glasses, plays games at age 30 all day and have no social lives, who make up like 90% of the IT industry (but we all know it's true). Basically we did some java and website scripting on these UTS computers which was a major downer, but we did get to see some whizz bang apple technology, in the apple store while window shopping. And i am happy to say that today I became one of those privileged people to touch and play with and ipad =D. Oh and I find it mildly amusing seeing a computer room with a bunch of geeky asians playing some sort of online game together (probably the only socialising they do) while our guide explains how they have so many facilities for their students to use for studying purposes.

Today I also went to morning glory for like the first time, never have i seen so many fobby asian girls in one place at the same time, and I'm thinking that Morning Glory is probably one of the few places where you can get giant dollops of poo shaped plushy toys.

OH and one other thing, RETAINERSSS ARE SOOOOOOO ANNNOYYYYIINNNGGGGGG AND UNCOMFORTABLEEEEE ): ok I'm good, thxbye
Daniel feels -pleasantly surprised- about the science excursion at the university of Sydney. First of all we had a tour of USYD and I have to admit it was quite... grand. From the sandstone, classic styled buildings to the extremely well kept green lawns and the spacious interior. It is so big it is even considered it''s own suburb =S. Biology was actually quite fun, we dissected a Bull's eye (=D), extracted DNA from strawberries and used epilepsy causing flashing lights to 'see' a locust's wings in flight in slow- mo.  The reactions of particular individuals were alone VERY entertaining. From the experience of previous excursions, I was expecting our guides to drone on and on while we meticulously took notes in our books or what not. But yes we actually DID do a lot of hands on work *cheers*. Ah yes, I HAVE to mention The Graffiti Tunnel, it's this epicly awesome tunnel in the university which actually ALLOWS you to graffiti on the walls =D. I wrote in big fat letters 'DANIEL WAS HERE  16/6/10' -feels so rebellious- Every millimeter of the tunnel was covered in graffiti, the floor, the steps, the walls, the roof, even the lights!

All in all I had a prreeetttyyy good day. How was the physics at USYD?

Don't these look so yummo? =D -drools-

Retainers

Hello, so today English speeches started, luckily I didn't have to do mine today =D. It feels like a big weight has been lifted off of my shoulders, but then again I've got Geography to do, and I haven't even started, so yea that will hopefully be that last thing on my 'to do list'. AAANNNNDDD I got my retainers today =( (the plastic moulds that stop your teeth from moving after braces). It feels like your mouth is constantly full of hard plastic chips and that your teeth are fake =o. I have to wear them non- stop for 3 MONTHSSSS :( and I can only take them off when I'm eating. IT SUCKKSSS. Oh well I'll get used to them.

Lack of assignments make Daniel Happy (:

4-0

okok I knew that the chances that Australia beating Germany was very slim, but 4-0!?!??! I got up at 4:30am (yes it was cold) just to watch the game =(. Wow I feel sorry for the 20000 socceroo fanatics that got up so early to watch the game at Darling Harbour only to witness such a crushing defeat. What a great start for the aussies =/. On another note... I am readddyyy to ROCK and ROLL for english speeches tomorrow, hope all goes well gl with preparing speeches everyone.

HBD to the queen

Daniel is buckling under his workload.

Sorry sorry sorry, I haven't posted, been sooo busy today. Hows everyone's english going? I am ALMOST finished just have to do some practicing =). ooh ooh and also HBD to the Queen, thanks for the public holiday, without it I would be screwed for English (: Oh and I'm really pumped for this following week, we have english presentations aaaannnd TWO excursions =D, YAYness because after the IT excursion I'm going to IMAX with my asian buddies (ps dont forget your 2 for 1 imax movie ticket voucher chris) thats $10 for a full length 3D movieeeeeee ^^, any movie ideas?? shrek 4 maybe? =o

p.s. Thank you ophelia for 'Inspiring' me to create a blog. (happy now? =S)

Saturday, June 12, 2010

Okay, i really have to get on with my English assignment. I've only written the introduction and I'm really having trouble finding ideas for the body, GAH. Oh and speaking about English, I don't know how I'll cope with 3unit english next year. I only JUST made it in with an average of 76% and some girls in my grade (actually a lot) are uber good at writing essays, whereas i get mediocre scores T_T. I am also sooo scared of getting kicked out of 3U english next year if i don't perform to standard, I don't know where to go once that happens, I'll fail english, then, maths, then history, and get kicked out of girra, then get 50% in the HSC and end up being a garbage collector...fine, bit over the top there but still . I do feel sorry for the people who didn't do well this semester and was denied entrance into 3U english =o, oh and I heard that someone got the same mark as me, and really wanted to do 3U eng but they were declinneeeddd, apparently because of attitude issues :S.

Well back to english.

First Post!

Hello boys and girls (: My name's Daniel, I attend GHS and I'm from year 10. Why have I started blogging you ask? well I've become quite a frequent blog reader, and I must say people have VERY interesting lives, however stoned/silent/smart/diligent they are in real life, so I decided to give a little insight into the mind of a short azn high schooler i.e ME XD. Oh and I'm aiming to keep my blog updated for at least a year, because I know of people who have become quite lazy and stopped blogging within a few weeks *cough* JULIAN *cough*. So, yea, stay tuned!!!
