Today I went out with a couple of friends to bowling and general bumming around at keely's house. I won't full describe the day from start to finish or what happened over the course, as I think that is quite boring to read. I shall do a summary (: At bowling me and my friends saved $7 ea from a coupon we found online XD (asian ftw) kudos to yen wei. I had 3 strikes >=D -proud- it just took me three bowls to warm up. I've always wondered, are the numbers on the size of the ball in kilograms? or are they just random number sizes... It's funny how 3 people were making fun of me at how crap I was at bowling but then in the end i believe they got POWNED.

I remained undefeated for table tennis, keely i LET you win that time, doesn't count -nods- I will only admit defeat from your mum... I swear every asian family has at least ONE relative that is wellknown and uber good at table tennis, often winning prizes/trophies/medals/money in the past.

P.S. I have a friend who caught his first bus in Australia (without parents). Has he been living under a rock for 16 years? :O

Yes this is a very bland expression for the day.

Today, well yesterday I went formal shopping. And I've go everything picked out now :) You would not believe how much formal pants cost =.='. I kind of envy girls and the accepted dress code. For guys its either vest or suit with formal pants. The only thing that changes is the colour of the shirt, suit/ vest and pants (practically either black or white). For girls there are SOOO many choices.

Looking at the place for a party on google maps. I realise just how rich the castle hill area is. The houses are big and you wouldn't believe how high the pool - no pool ratio are. Almost all houses in that area have pools and some even have tennis courts...

Isn't it strange how I have nothing to do but i can't even find the time to blog? ...

Straight males may find the following content disturbing or distressing

This post will be about a number of disturbing topics. I talk about a lot of personal issues on my blog so if you're uncomfortable i suggest you close this tab. (not that any of you will, you're all curious as to what I'm about to say I'm sure, but oh well i warned you).

I was bored and sifting through my movies today. And i came across one called 'Bruno', i heard it mentioned a couple of times on the schoolyard (little did I know it was for all the wrong reasons) so I decided hmm why not? BIIIIIIIG MISTAKE. BRUNO has got to be the GAYEST (literally and metaphorically speaking) movie I had EVER seen. I have a horrible habit of having to finish movies that I start. The image above is the official cover of the movie and is NOTHING compared to the actual video. The video is about a gay austrian fashion designer who became broke, the story follows his road to stardom, now this may sound all well and good however Bruno's road to celebrity status is very strange indeed. The movie contains uber gay dancing, stripping, very revealing clothing (and not on women), VERY gay fetishes which at least are censored, dry humping and same sex kissing. Actually calling this movie gay is an understatement. To actually find this movie funny one must be well aware of all the sexual jargon, and then have one warped sense of humour. DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE!

Now my grandparents are old fashioned, they're in their early 80's. In shanghai, there are many old fashioned families with chinaware deep cauldrons they keep below their beds. Now I didn't know what it was for, until I found out they were used for pissing into at night when it's either too cold or they can't be bothered going downstairs to the toilet. I cannot fathom how people can live with a bowl of freaking piss underneath their beds. Just thinking about it gives me chills. Now I can kindof understand why it's needed in china, but at my house the toilet is a few metres away from our bedrooms, and unfortunately old habits die hard. I come into their bedroom one day to help my grandad with his computer (he doesn't know how to change the font in ms picture manager) and I almost trip over a clear bucket of yellow liquid, I almost puked when it finally dawned on me. I mean it takes a couple minutes to go toilet and back, peeing in a bucket will save you what 1 minute? there have got to be hygiene issues there.

On a slightly happier note I found out my grandad actually physically deletes pictures ONE by ONE on his camera. He's had to delete hundreds of pictures from his camera taking him like 3hours! when I heard this I just laughed. So i taught him how to delete all of them at once on the computer. He was so happy! rofl....

I'm going to parra tomorrow. Oh and congrats if you made it this far :D

HOLIDAYS

You know we had a whole semester worth of assignments and tests to do in ONE term (term 3). One week ago I was fully hardcore study boying, and envying baulko who got to do their tests after the holidays. BUt now I'm actually grateful that our tests are done, because now I can actually enjoy my holidays for once and school cert is in week 5 so I've got PLENTY of time to study during school. Whereas baulko heheh have to study all of these holidays BAHAHAHHA.

Daniel's holiday plans:
- O.C. outing =D
- Girra outing :D
- Birthday Party :D
- Tennis =)
- Shopping :)
- IST =/
- English practice essay :(
- and whatever else comes up

P.S. I may not post daily during the holidays, due to the lack of things to talk about.

Grandparenting adventures (:

So at dinner today, something else (along with the daily spittle/food specks/ yelling) quite disturbing was observed. After dinner my grandma actually took out her dentures, I'll have you know I was still eating dinner at the time, at the dinner table and observed them (I'm guessing for food remnants)? And it's kinda disgusting seeing her toothless and with a set of wired gum coloured dentures in her hands. Then upon sight she takes her dentures and sucks on them while her tongue licks the outside of it... =/

Old age sure is a harrowing prospect.

Moon Festival! :) and asian dinners.

Happy Moon Festival. For those who don't know what it is, it's an asian festival that celebrates the moon. Supposedly the moon at this time is at it's brighest and fullest (check it out for yourself). It is celebrated by eating moon cakes (the thing above), made from lotus seed paste with a yolk in the middle. I just had a bit after
dinner....

I think our grade is the most unenthusiastic of all grades in the school (whether we do it on purpose or not). We could never match up with the present day craziness and enthusiasm of the present yr 12. Maybe because they have a lot of whites in their grade =P Today's talent quest was basically fueled on year 12 performances. I'm thinking that when we get into year 12, will there be any performances at all? :O A certain parody of 'tik tok' was. quite. um. interesting...and I can assure you one of the best Indian dancers will be at Girraween High, lets just say we have a lot of Indian talent to choose from. Meanwhile the rest of today was also a total bludge, we had no supervision at all for english, watched a movie in geography and history elective. This week is so different in contrast to this exact time a week or two ago.

Is it just shang families that talk uber uber loud? At dinner my dad and grandpa are literally shouting at the dinnertable to talk to each other. Having an 80 year old and a 50 year old man next to you shouting in your ear is just a tad bit annoying when you're trying to enjoy a nice family dinner. Naturally with shouting and food there is bound to be specks of food residue and spittle that land on my arm, face and in my rice bowl, that is also a bit unpleasant. Also eating is like warfare, my dad practically forces a piece of food onto my grandparents' plate, responded with refusion and eventual acceptance. This happens all the time, I think it's become the role of the host to do it and before the guest can eat it he/she has to try and deny it. I think it is almost impolite NOT to go through this routine. But I think my grandparents HAVE to do it to convince my dad that they're actually full, or he just keeps piling stuff onto their plates. A certain level of refusal has to be reached before my dad is satisfied that they genuinely ARE full.

My allergies are playing up again, I used up all my tissues and the inside of my nose feels constantly itchy. I'm also sneezing on average every five minutes and my nose is running like a hose. Also that red patch below my nose is starting to form due to excessive nose blowing. Oh and also you should save those woolies dockets sometimes, (yes I know it's asian) but my friend actually got an $18 meal for FREE on one of his woolworths receipt.

I just spent 30minutes typing this, first time my web browser closed and blogger didn't auto save, so i had to type up again.

Oldies

Old people are quite forgetful actually. Yesterday I went into my bathroom and saw a clear bowl full of old people's dentures and had a :/ moment. You get used to these things hopefully.... Why do my grandparents talk so loud? (maybe because of their failing hearing) at 5am yesterday (considered to be late) when they got up they were talking soo loud that i could hear next door. So I layed on my bed wide open with (what would have been) bloodshot eyes, at 7am they finally left so i could get some shut eye... tonight- EAR PLUGS!

Monday, September 20, 2010

My grandparents slept at 7. I saw a pigeon that was just lying on the ground staring at me as I approached. I deduce that it was nearing old age and soon to die. I have a boring life. Gosh I miss my 4U english expert veteran sister to help me through Macbeth and other Shakespeare texts. JUst because we don't have anything to do with it, doesn't mean you shouldn't inform us of your whereabouts, because naturally friends tend to wonder and seek you out if we don't know where you are. It's just common knowledge.

Reasons why I am not a typical asian:
- I am better at english than maths and science
- I cannot play the piano
- I don't go to tutoring
- I can't speak mando or canto

School tomorrow, seems like a short yet long time we had yearlies. I forgot my dentist appointment in the heat of the night before maths test and ultra studying D: My grandparents are coming over tomorrow from China, it'll be awkward because I haven't seen them in 3 years. And my quite unsatisfactory dodgy shang doesn't help either. Unfortunately shanglish doesn't work on them either.

It feels like I have school tomorrow. Today has been quite busy I spent the day out at ashfield/flemington with my parents. Flemington markets, if you havent been, is this huge shelter with many many stalls. You have asian people yelling dolla dolla dollaa in that asian accent and shop owners all around you screaming at you to buy a watermelon/cauliflower/oranges etc. It's crowded with like so many people banging on all sides of you (O.o) and the floors are an icky black colour with squashed melons, various seeds, leaves and an assortment of squished fruit and veg. I got rammed into a trolley when an asian man (jeez asians these days, can't see) with a trolley full of bananas runs into me. I also saw quite an interesting/ disturbing sight. There was an old western man with John Howard hair wearing a colorful pink/ green poka dot dress with heels, handbag and rosey cheeks (what I assume to be makeup) and I think he was wearing mascara, but I didn't want to look too much at him, because I'm sure he would've seen me with a face like :OOOOO.

Friday, September 17, 2010

Today I've been lazing at home, I slept till 12pm. I found something quite interesting when you're bored. I fished out my old primary school photos (kindergarden- yr3) and decided to find each and everyone of those people on facebook. It is quite interesting to see how people turn out 10 years later. Oh and I also downloaded and watched bolt. Life's gooood

freedom

YEARLIES ARE OVER!!! Today I had my last test, maths now I'm freeee. Isn't it strange how when you have things to do, there never seems to be enough time for anything, but when you have free time, theres nothing to do =.=' maybe its just me. Seriously when I actually have things to do, I'm able to procrastinate on the comp for hours, but when I actually have no tests or assignments I don;t know what to do. Maybe I should go out and go for a run, get some exercise refresh my mind a bit. Pshhhh what am i saying im too fat for that (: This week seemed long, and short at the same time...I wish i'm one of those people who can confidently say they're going to get 95%+ after a test...But oh well whats done is done, no use moping over it if nothing can be changed. It's what I keep telling myself when I'm sad.

I'm looking forward to the holidays, I've got no work, so it'll be play play play. My grandparents are going to be coming over so I'll be going out twice as much.

Age 16 is a cool, big boy, older number. way cooler than 15.

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

I just realised I've already done 6 exams, thats already EIGHT HOURS of examination time in total. I've got 1 test left, mathematics tomorrow then It's time to chillax. Speaking of exams, my neck has been hurting these past couple of days, due to the intense craning and bending of my neck to stare/ write on my paper. Maths is my most dreaded subject, I'm fine with everything else, but with maths you have to learn/ study so much and when it comes to the test you either know it or you don't. If you don't then thats a definite -3 marks. Daniel, please please please do well in maths tomorrow. 2hrs left to study before bed.

Gl everyone.

Ever felt like joining a different group of people to play or talk to, butt feel bad about 'ditching' your own group? History was okay, because I studied but geography was meh because I didn't study enough, I finished history in like 30minutes but Geography took me almost to full time. For the geography essay, I just bullshitted more than 2 pages of coastal management. Chucking a few geography sounding terms here and there "bilateral aid" "multilateral aid" "NGOs", random things I remember from the year that kindof relate to the topic, (groynes, sand dunes, coastal teatree?)

Do you have a friend that can be really mean for a period of time but then nice? I DO
I debuted on my first tackle footy game today (:
happy birthday to Anubhav
And an official congratulations to the second couple in our grade!! (halves don't count).

Stressful situations.

Luckily science didn't have too much chemistry, I wrote sulfuric acid as SO4 because I'm noob and it sounded familiar and chemistry-y. This is going to be a loooong week, day 1 and I'm already tired from over testing, mentally and physically. Usually 6 hours of class is fine, only about 30% brain force exertion is used, but for my 3hrs of tests today, extreme concentration, black and white paper staring and head scratching has mentally drained me. I've still got so much geography to study, I don't know if i'll be able to do it, usually in this situation I would come home laze on the bed and watch tv, but I can't.... Constant nose sniffling and pen clicking is really annoying especially when you're running out of time or you realise you don't know how to do a question. When I realise that a test is really hard, or when I'm running out of time, or when I know I'm going to to bad during a test, waves of heat rise up in my body and I get sudden head discomfort (no I don't cry, I don't think I've ever cried since year 6). I mostly just count to ten close my eyes and resume the test.

During the science test today, there was this girl at around the 1hr mark next to me (alphabetical order) she started shaking, getting fidgety and moving her knees up and down, which was quite distracting at the corner of my eyes. After about 30 minutes she like yells to the teacher (if you put your hand up it takes quite a long time for teachers to look up and realise you have your hand up) if she can go to the toilet and I was thinking "ohhh so tha'ts why". She like almost sprints out. Pee before a test, it's good for you. Did you end up studying for 12 hours?

MY brain feels owie.

does stress make pimples grow? Today I have had a good amount of hours science studying (I'm so unasian for not doing any sciences next year). But right now I am in panic mode because I forgot yr 9 things were being tested aswell so now I haev a whole year worth of things to learn and it's only 11pm. I have developed an awful habit of "hey I've got all of saturday lets go watch some tv for a bit", then I procrastinate and cram in the last minute. I finished one of my assignments at 12am :OOOO before. Chemistry and genetics are going to be the death of me tomorrow.

I wash my hair everyday, I think it's normal for guys but then i found out that some guys wash it once a WEEK. So i decided to try it aswell, so i miss washing my hair for ONE day and the next day my hair is uberly greasy, with clumped shiny hair bits and scalp that is so itchy it's hard not to scratch for a minute.

Saturday, September 11, 2010

Okay i am very stressed out now, my football addiction is bad and I've been out all day. So I'm off to study into the night.

tests, bunsen burners and fingernails.

I'm quite proud of myself, I've managed to put in a good 2hours of history study. I just realised that I have a grand total of 10hrs of examination/test time next week.

Fingernails are cool they come in many shapes and sizes, and some experience much ridicule because of a particular shape ;). Have you seen a thumbnail that is wider than it is wide, I have! I find guys who don't get their nails to be disturbing and gross looking in a way. It's just something about guys and long nails that's just wrong. Especially on some asians, in china SO many of the people there leave their pinky nail uber long, is it a fad or something? it looks really freaky to me...fair enough if it's on a girl, but most of the time it's on a male. I would have drawn a diagram, but it's too late now... SO basically there are those really long thin thumbs, there are squarish ones, then there are ovalish ones (like mine, they're a bit longer than they are wide), there are fat thumbs where it is uber wide (yupyupyup its just the bone chris), then there are the thumbs that are realllllyyy wide, the fingernail on it is 3X wider than it is high, this is probably very rare and occurs in very few people. They kindof resemble frog fingers with the suction cap at the end (are they called fingers), I think they're called clubbed thumbs, Megan Fox has them!. Some people have no Lunula (the white crescent shaped bit at the base of your fingernails) For me my thumbs have the biggest Lunula then as i go from thumb to pinky the Lunula decreases in size until my pinky which basically have no white area. I wonder what the purpose of that colouring is?

The best thing about science, are the pracs, and the best pracs are the ones that involve FIRE, and those pracs involve a bunsen burner. Why is it so cool? because you can play with fire, my friends always fight over who gets to light the match first and light the bunsen burner. Did I mention that I LOVE the smell of petrol and natural gas? (yesyes it's bad for you, but it smells soooo nice for some reason). Now we get so absorbed in playing with fire (what bad kids) that we forge about the actual experiment. Instead we experiment with burning things in the bunsen burner, this could include sticking 3 matches into the bunsen burner flame and watching the minifireworks that occur, or burning paper, or hair, or even plastic *cough yen wei cough*. Oh and I myself tested the handwaving theory over a orange flame when I was bored. And to answer your question NO it doesn't hurt at all, if you wave your hand over the top of the flame really fast you feel nothing but a bit of heat. But once i kept it there for a few seconds longer, and after about 2 seconds you could feel a sudden pain. Sorry I'm not brave enough to get close enough to the blue flame.

WOWOWOOW in the last 3 hours have been a blur of shock/ information/ facebook/ MSN overload about others. Only now have I calmed down, I've had a many mix of emotions mainly for friends that will leave D': so I've got ABSOLUTELY NO work done. For my friends I feel happy for them personally, but sad that they're leaving. One of them was probably the only friend I could trust with my inner thoughts and feelings, GL for the future man. Another 2 I really only got to know them this year, but i sucks how now I can't get to know you any better. EHEH at least you will be with your fellow asians :D

Just because you didn't get into B doesn't mean you're crap, don't worry you're smart. Don't cry it won't get you anywhere, try looking happier :) believeee in yourselllffff (even though I don't myself).

Why were you so sad today? do you want to leave us that badly? D'=

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

Today I got shouted food -yaaay-, it always seemed like I was the person shouting and never getting shouted. Oh well that changed today =D I found out that my dad tried marijuana in his younger years, what a BEAST, I have new found respect for him LOL, I never knew he was so rebelious. He describes it as an extremely good/high euphoria feeling. Hmmm i wonder.

I hate maths study.

Monday, September 6, 2010

I'm suffering from an outbreak of small red pimples all over my face. So yearlies soon and i should be studying hardcore, but everday its the same -i'll start tomorrow- and whenever I get ready to study, there comes facebook and msn taunting me with those notifications. Then when i go on youtube to watch one video, i get addicted and click all the other videos on the side, thus wasting 1hr+ on youtueb alone. But it hurts to not log onto msn entirely, i envy those people who can multitask, be on the computer while doing his/her studying. Today I had a prac test, and I got 3 different answers for the same experiment, yup sure is reassuring. I dunno how to assess the accuracy or make a judgement on the validity of the experiment, thus I have to rely on my natural bullshitting skills. Seriously tomorrow HARDCORE STUDY.

Repaired computer

SO it's been a week since I last used my computer, now it's all repaired costing $170 :O but I got an entirely new motherboard. What have I been doing? watching football... never thought I would watch such a thing... Looks like studying will have to wait, I've got to make up for lost time :D

It's kindof unnerving the thought that some random wallet-stealing noob can look at my 1year collection of stickerphotos in my long lost wallet. Today i got a floorboard coloured plastic mat on my floor, because my parents say that my chair's ruining my floorboards.

Thursday, September 2, 2010

I just got home and I watched 5minutes of playschool and sesame street on abc kids T__T. Hey! it’s the only thing on tv atm. Yes this is what a lack of computer does to a normal person. It’s springtime! Probably my most disliked season along with winter, because for me spring = allergies which is worse than having a cold. I still haven’t gotten my wallet back so I’ve basically given up on it, I’m not going to tell my parents, I’ll just wait until next year until I get a new train/bus pass. So our school has some yr 11 Japanese exchange students that are REALLY, and I mean REALLY, as in 140cm short. And i had pe today, we were playing netball I was Goal defence, one of the RRREEAALLLYYY short Japanese student was goal attack and I was marking her. What happened was, J who was on the other team, passed it to what I thought was an open space, so naturally i go charging at the ball, but the jap student who I was marking, was originally behind me and I didn’t see her charge up (she was surprisingly fast) as I’m about to get the ball I feel a tiny tiny impact on my left shoulder and the next second i see her sprawled on the floor followed by the almost compulsory “oooooh” from bystanders. I hope she understands what sorry means... goshhhh i feel SOOO bad. D’= See this is why I don’t like playing co-ed sports, because I have to tone down my effort in the case of accidently hurting one of the girls, like i did today :(((( I mean ANY guy (even dayanan) would barely have felt anything let alone stack it like she did. Normally, even if it was a guy who stacked it or fell, it would have to be a really large impact and it’s really no big deal, since it happens a lot and guys are really competitive when it comes to sports. How do you say sorry in Japanese?
